Bought the wrong Ram It turns out the RAM I bought was ECC and my HP p6719c only supports non-ECC ram. It was a genuine mistake. :(
For this HP P6719c PC. The memory specs are: Dual channel memory architecture Four DDR3 DIMMs (240-pin) sockets PC3-8500 (DDR3-1066) PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333) Non-ECC memory only, unbuffered Supports 1GB, 2GB, and 4GB DDR3 DIMMs Supports up to 16 GB on 64-bit systems Supports up to 4 GB on 32-bit PCs *32-bit PCs cannot address a full 4.0 GB of memory.
Can I have help finding new RAM? Gaming keypad or keyboard worth it? From your own experience, doGaming Keypads or keyboards help much in games? I can understand having a gaming mouse due to dpi, grip, ergonomics, etc. My current keyboard Microsoft Ergonomic 4000 isn't good for gaming due to the spacing of the keys.
How to block inappropriate content I have OpenDNS configured on my router and phone. But my willpower can't hold and I just revert back to original settings. Is there a secure way that'll stop me from unblocking?
Will Ms2 use multiple cores? I'm deciding between the i3-4330 or FX-8320. From what I've read, the intel is better for mmorpgs since most only use 2 cores. Intel does better in single threaded programs (MMORPGs) compared to games that use multiple cores (BF4) I am also considering the i5-4670k depending how much the build is total. I am comfortable spending $500-600 w/o GPU. A friend is providing me his old GPU for free, but I don't know the model ATM. Games I'll be playing: Tree of Savior MapleStory 2 Peria Chronicles
What to use raspberry pi for? I bought one to use for XBMC but the performance wasn't great. now I use plex and stream my files via DLNA on my TV. Any ideas?
i3-4150 or wait for an i5-4690k deal I could have gotten an i5-4690K + a decent mobo for $265, but I didn't jump on that deal. I regret it so badly now This i3-4150 is on sale for $89, so I was considering it. But I don't know how much of an upgrade it will be from a prebuilt HP with i3-2100 and added GTS250. Games I will be playing (MMORPGs): Tree of Savior MapleStory 2 Peria Chronicles I want a smooth MMO experience. Playing at 1080p, MAX and 60FPS on my BENQ monitor. EDIT: Budget is around 700

Warning to Asus Router Users There was a vulnerability fixed in March. It let hackers view everything on your hard drive. You should update your router if you haven't yet. Source I know this is months old, but it's scary that haxors may have been snooping around in my files. I don't have any sensitive data on my computer though.
Computer boots up faster than internet My computer boots pretty fast with an SSD + Windows 8.1. The problem I'm having is that my internet connection doesn't load in time when I load chrome. There's about a 3 second delay after everything boots + chrome? It's connected via an ethernet cable to my router. Is there a fix for this?
Is this a good deal? $180 for a 27" 1080p monitor made by BenQ. I have no prior experience with this brand but the reviews seem good. I'll be using it as my main monitor in a dual setup. Light gaming (MS2), programming, and web browsing.
Newegg shoprunner option is gone They removed it entirely since yesterday. Thoughts? I ordered from newegg because of FREE 2day shoprunner, so they aren't getting any business from me anymore. Shipping is $20+ to here. I still have amazon prime and tigerdirect shoprunner, but the computer parts prices there aren't so good. This had to happen while I was building my computer. >.<
Dual monitor questions Can the two different sized/resolution monitors be used side-by-side comfortably? I'm already using a 20" HP and would like to upgrade to 23"+ Or would it be better to get a TV instead of a monitor?
Anyone game in 4k? I got an R9 280 because I game in 1080p. I was thinking I should have gotten a better GPU instead. But then my build would be $1K and I'd have to get a 4K TV. And I recently got a $69 EVGA GOLD 750w PSU for my cousin. I paid $69 for my Corsair CX600M but was thinking about swapping PSUs/GPU with him and upgrading my GPU. Anyway, does anyone care about 4K?
Windows update broke video out? Everything was running fine, but then I did a windows update. Let it install everything... and then on next boot up the monitor doesn't display detect any inputs. I tried using DVI and VGA. I tried testing the monitor with a different computer and it works (it isn't the monitor). Can't boot into bios because my keyboard seems to have no power when I tap F8. It's using integrated graphics (no GPU added) [header]UPDATE[/HEADER] I reseated the RAM and it works fine now.
