Big ole batch of bug mashing

Hope you all had a glorious Canadian Thanksgiving. I've been squeezing in whatever minutes I can find to fixing bugs on the site, thank you all for your patience. Here's a list of some of the bigger updates of late:
##Tags on stories
I've mentioned the use of tags in stories briefly, but it wasn't entirely working so let me go over it again. It is my hope that auctions and listings can be combined with stories. If you are looking for guildies, friends, bossing buddies and buying / selling / trading, then use the appropriate hashtag when adding a story. Then, on the [url=http://www.basilmarket.com/Stories]story list page[/url] you'll be able to filter stories based on those tags. This should make it easy to find the things / people you're after.
##Other bits
* your ID page now shows posts regardless of where (ie, forum, screen, etc) and date (ie, not just last couple of days). Useful if you want to catch up on a thread you posted in recently.
* if you were missing followers they are now back.
* notification icon (lightning icon) now displays a clear notice if you have new notifications
* pagination is now fixed for stories and forums.
* post filter was broken, now shows problematic word and restores your post when it sends you back.
##Remaining
There is so much left to do, I appreciate your patience while I work on the list. Thanks!

Please if there is only one thing you can fix, just fix the thread preview to the thread description/OP's original post. Last comment does not help in anyway.
@lecarde: You're right! The avatars disappear and the banner says bzl.co. I just tried it on Firefox and there it didn't happen. Well, at least I have a way to check out the mobile version without having to buy a smartphone.

@pavchka yea its weird af to be honest. Though after some experimentation I think it might be chrome doing it automatically? I know that the MS website shows the same behaviour, but no other websites do.
@pavchka: probably to save data.
@lecarde: Avatars aren't displayed on the mobile version by default. I forgot why that is as I don't use the mobile version, but it's intentional.
I don't see why Basil should go to mobile when you're using it on your PC (so to say) though. :S
@MrBasil: uhhh strange issue I just found. Whenever I snap the browser to the side (running Win10) the website defaults to the mobile version, and I lose not only the top navigation bar, but I also can't see any avatars in comments anymore. It only happens when I snap the window, if I just decrease the size by dragging the corner around it doesn't do this.
Will use basil less now lol.

The blue is nice, but the underlining is meh
oh god someone brought to my attention that all the old guide links are dead, i don't even know where to start with that now, i'd have to re-do the whole thing.

It's a replacement of the old [ONLINE] tag.
Black: offline
Underlined, blue: online
I guess B went for that system to prevent clutter next to your username.
Mr. Basil, I think this full dipping causes too much shock and can potentially scare users away. I would suggest having at least a pilot site for select users or pages, or both, instead of testing the water with two feet
is there anyway to connect accounts/add players until this thing is fixed because it kind of sucks lol
@mrbasil All elements except the header. There was a thread that linked to a picture of this, but it's been lost in all the IGN threads

@mrbasil: Thanks for all the work you put into the site. Even if I am still adjusting to the new layout, it feels like it is running much smoother now.
A few things though -
Why do some players get black names in a thread, and others get blue, underlined names?
Can you reduce the actual size of videos. Right now they are set to take up 100% of the screen (or damn close to it), yet this doesn't work for all resolutions. My resolution is just a bit wider than the youtube video player is, so it cuts off the top and bottom of the video, and its really annoying. I lose the 10% of the vertical height of the video, and I am sure I'm not the only one with this problem.
In regards to @aerodragon's comment, the comments in a thread go 95% of the way across the screen, and its kind of weird. Its great for mobile devices and tablets, but on a laptop its actually pretty awkward for some of us.
Mr. B, I personally like the new update. However, can you make it so that the front page is organized more. Like, separate every thread from which forum it's from? I'm not sure it's necessary because we already have a forum drop down menu next to the fun one, but me and a few others would like it.

@jetlagjag: perhaps no need to have a filter at all in mail as it's between you and your friend. I've removed it entirely for now.

Try to reduce the %width of the page elements. Everything taking up the whole page is what's making people complain the most - Even if they don't know it themselves (Psychology)

A small thing I notice. If you catch the swear filter in the mail system, it doesn't tell you which was the offensive word so it can be corrected. I spent about 10 minutes trying to figure out what word was censored .

@sungoon, I will definitely be porting the guides over to the Wiki, which should make it possible for others to help keep them updated. I just have to find time for it. Thanks for your patience.

In my opinion, the site isn't in such a terrible state, there's just a lot to handle in regards to bugs and maybe down the road appearance (I know lots of people are unsatisfied with the current style). Appreciate the work you're putting in, have a good one.
HEY MR BASIL, YOU KNOW BEFORE THIS UPDATE IF YOU COMMENTED ON A THREAD IT WOULD APPEAR AT THE TOP OF THE OTHER THREADS. yA IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU COULD DO THAT AGAIN
