another one is (any poster feel free to give their opinion): why do you think the divorce rate in america is so high nowadays, as opposed to back in time? (the divorce rate in america is 50% - that means that half of all marriages in america end in divorce at one point or another)

answer to TS' question: Divorce rate is so high because people seem to marry much more easily now. There's not that religious aspect where they go to church and get married with the blessing of god and everything. Marriage is just not special anymore it seems like. Young people (18+) get married loosely believing they'll be together forever or something after hardly knowing each other. People nowadays also aren't as willing to fix things anymore, they're used to toss what broke and they don't want to put the effort to work things out (which also means that they will let small problems stack until they became so big that they see no purpose in the relationship anymore)
Also, life is too fast-paced, you lose track/sight of your partner easily and because both people work (husband as well as wife) it's even easier to hardly see each other.
