Thoughts on government shutdown?
Alright, so we all know that the US Government has been stupid and whatnot.
Congress is still getting paid for not doing their jobs. If this was any other job, they would have been fired a long, LONG time ago.
I don't believe that they deserve to be paid.
Thoughts?
(On a side related note, the Urban Dictionary word of the day on the day of the shutdown was "congressing" LOL)

much more greed than nexon <3
but then again, why would they care. It's not like the laws/regulations they pass affect them. They are soo far gone, that the only people they represent is themselves. "Ain't nobody got time for us citizens"

Government can't pay for their plane tickets, but they still pay congress for being useless. I bet being a congressman is a nice job lol
Do they do anything anyway?
Exactly. The government is shut down for a reason.
Do they do anything anyway?
@CygnusBabii Yeah, did I get the name wrong?
@NinjaOfTennis I didn't want to bring technicalities about our government in this. I'm just saying it would be great if we could just fire them all. God damn.
What do they even want all that money for? The amount of money they wish to make is quite excessive.
There's no end to greed for money and power.
What do they even want all that money for? The amount of money they wish to make is quite excessive.
Thank the 27th amendment for that. only way to stop such a thing is to make a new amendment

congress isn't going to really pass a law that limits there power... dey gonna veto the sheit out of it.
Exactly. This is why the government is so corrupt.
"Hey Congress, can we lower your pay?" Oh no, because only Congress can pass that.
"Hey Congress, can we limit your power?"
Congress: "Yeah sure, if you can make us vote against the well being of ourselves"
This country has fallen. If the democracy is corrupt, there's no point in it anymore.
@cyberdudelol : You would have to have congress vote on whether they wanted to be fired or not. Impeachment of myself? Oh yeah, let me vote on it really quick. -_-

For what? I was under the impression they had the power to change their salary before the 27th. I'm pretty sure all the 27th did is make the changes take effect after the next election, which in theory would balance out the issue a bit by lessening conflict of interest. Of course it doesn't work out because it's so easy for an incumbent to win their seat again. You can thank gerrymandering for that.
I could be mistaken of course, feel free to correct me.
Edit: Actually, never mind. I see where you're coming from. However, without the 27th amendment it'd be possible for Congress to raise their own pay at pretty much any time. It'd be a difficult issue to fix unless you could specifically get the amendment to cater to the event of a shutdown.
congress wanted to play gta v online
Congress should be paid minimum wage for the crap they pull everyday tbh
@cyberdudelol are you talking about the Aussie Parliament?
Do what Queen Elizabeth did with the Parliament in such a crisis.
Fire all of them.

Ask Congress to have a huge BBQ in front of the white house. It will create miracles beyond your imagination.

Uh the government is being stoopid
