@jefferyj98: Shade Split only hits 8 mobs. Like you said, it's only better than Taunt if you ohko with it because it hits 8 mobs, and a faster delay (630 ms). Taunt is just better at everything else. It has one of the best horizontal and vertical hit-box ranges as a 4th job mobber, and despite the slower delay (750 ms), and hitting 6 mobs, the strength is stronger on 6 compared to Shade Split on 8, and if you wanted to hit 8 mobs with Taunt, you could put a point in Taunt - Extra Target.

Just use Showdown.

His point is that you don't get the bonus period if you 1 hit with showdown. Obviously once it has been applied you could kill the mob with a regular attack if you felt like to still get the bonus.
not unless u can 1 hit the mobs ur at, than shade splitter is better cause it hits 10 mobs... and if u 1 hit with showdown the 40% exp isnt applied... so showdown untill u can 1 hit the mobs with shade splitter
you don't have to use shade splitter to deliver the final blow. The bonus is still applied even if you use a 2nd or 3rd attack with showdown to kill the mobs.
