Sounds to me like they're completely separate, otherwise there'd be no reason to select which region you wanted to play in.

Also as for keeping Additional Options / 15+ stars, I believe that Flames are removed but any already existing Additional Options on your gear will remain untouched. Not sure about 15+ stars but I'd imagine its the same situation, wont be able to go above 15 on new stuff but any old stuff you have over 15 will stay that way. Could be wrong though, we'll have to w8 and see.

The servers need to be uniquely named, but I seriously SERIOUSLY doubt that they'll actually merge the character databases. There would be no way to do that without renaming people. This makes me believe that the EMS servers will simply be self-contained with no cross-over with the GMS servers.

@littletlk: They forced a server name change so we might be on same world screen. That's why I'm confused about it.

I think the services are being kept separate (no cross-play), but they're both being handled on GMS's platform.
That's the only way they can not have to re-name characters.
Which would mean that you guys' equipment shouldn't have to be deleted, but they'll still standardize the future updates, so it's likely you won't get more in the future.

I wonder if they will remove our flamed stats or 15+ stars
