JaboodyDubs is my absolute favorite channel ever, I'm gonna live an extra 10 years because of how much I've laughed at their videos. They basically just dub over commercials and sometimes clips from shows and stuff.
This is my favorite recent one:

Other than that: CinemaSins MKBHD (smartphone videos) Matthew Santoro LAWHF (actually funny pranks) whatever (actually funny pranks) Screen Junkies (mainly for Honest Trailers) Vsauce shane (Dawson, and mostly just the creepy/conspiracy videos)
I'm subscribed to a lot more but they don't post consistently or I don't watch them consistently.
50% of my time on Youtube is for brazilian gamers/youtubers (cazum8, electronicdesireGE, etc) and the other 50% is for "English-language" Maplestory content (because actually I'm the only brazilian Maplestory-related source in Youtube).
Most just music labels so I can find out about new releases, and KMS/KLT uploaders Not a fan of most content on Youtube. TEDTalks are all essentially the same "lifehack" BS peddled by middle aged moms who sold a bestselling self-help book. now. If I want entertainment I go to Liveleak or browse a hobby forum.
@benchpresser: TED Talks are some of the most amazing and educational things I have ever seen. The range of topics that can be covered is mind boggling. Glad someone else also appreciates them.
I typically watch 3 main categories on YouTube. TED Talks, UFC related stuff, and I follow a few fitness related YouTube channels (maxxchewning being my favorite).

During my undergrad I would watch various online lecturers for different courses. My personal favorites were Stanford's Machine Learning and Harvard's Abstract Algebra. It's a pretty effective way to stay ahead of the game.
Nowadays, I just turn on various conference and dissertation recordings for background noise while I do my work, occasionally tuning in if I hear something that piques my interest.
Maybe every once in a great while, I'll turn on some commentary on current events by YouTubers that I can halfway tolerate. It doesn't really help that so many of them can be incredibly whiny at times.
The educational, with a heavy bent on science. PBS Space Time, Veritasium, Numberphile & Sixty Symbols, VSauce, Kurzgesagt, CGPGrey, MinutePhysics, etc.
Also some various documentaries and the occasional dumb trending video because I can't be bothered to be serious all the time.
Depends on what you like. I have found myself particularly entranced with the live stream portion of Youtube lately. I find it interesting how entertaining it is to watch random things being live-streamed. For example I spent a good 20 minutes today watching a livestream of a streetcam overlooking some town square.
