Evan

Why are Evans so underrated?

Why aren't there many Evans running around?
Evans are one of the strongest classes in the game.
Is it because F/Ps exist? Why? Why?

@axnslicer: Ehh more like 20-40% of the people that voted on basil. How big was the sample size?

3. How many people can even hit the damage cap?

Somewhere between 20-40% of the people on Basil if I'm remembering the last poll correctly.

Being told your class has low endgame potential is definitely a turn off for most people. See all those threads with titles like "which class is strongest with infinite funding" or "which class has the most lines"?

@vivabasura: I didn't deny it's a need, nor will I say it is a need. Don't confuse necessity with convenience. IMO every mage should be fine with teleport, even though we got the short end of the stick when it came to the tele buff everyone else got.

And back to the point I was trying to make, saying that you need a mount to glide isn't really valid considering that every class needs a mount to glide; we just happen to not actually need to "mount" our dragon to use it, which I implied above, is a convenience.

And as for 4, I can't really complain about having a lot of buffs, just complain about how slow it is to use them but that'll be changed in the future.
I don't understand why the lack of lines on their main attack would be a valid reason for this class to remain unpopular.
Maybe for the more heavily funded people, but for most people, they won't even hit cap.
Do most people see the best class as most hps rather than damage?
Evans hit cap so ridiculously easily that it really doesn't take much funding at all to achieve.
However, a capping Evan doesn't even hit 10 times a second, which hinders them greatly when trying to kill endgame bosses. Sure, even with slow GMS vellum Evans can still manage to solo it in 13 minutes or so, but they're greatly hindered at things like Dorothy, and hard magnus is much more annoying.
1. True
2. Level 200
3. How many people can even hit the damage cap?
4. Meh
5. That's their fault
6. I don't even understand this, you don't have to glide. And even so, you'd need a mount to glide regardless of what class you are except DS/DA.
7. That's your opinion, and Evan actually has a dragon.
4 is not a meh, nonono
and 6 is really important, in every thread about their horrible mobility evan players bring on topic their glide now u gonna deny its a need?

on the contrary i think their lack of lines makes their attacks look strong and therefore some people stick with evan thanks to the feeling of being powerful
it remains unpopular because its the most outdated job in the game(together with aran and merc imo) the little gameplay issues can become a big headache not many people will put up with
I see even less F/P than Evan.
It's probably
1) It has outdated animations, even the MW is outdated and has a huge delay.
2) It needs to level up to level 180 or something to max all its skills
3) It has only 4 lines, for now, and that's bad for end game
4) A lot of buffs to cast
5) People still think it needs to do quests to get SP
6) It needs mounts to glide, which might be expensive for new players
7) Kaiser looks "cooler" if one wants a dragon class
Many people think of them as weak, even though many Evans have actually killed most end game bosses they still fail at Dorothy, at least for now.

They are really nice in that they get ignore elemental resistance on bosses and their attack speed is amazing, but as above posters said, their lines and eelpout are both awful and both huge letdowns. I feel like if Evan got a damage cap increase similar to marksmen, they would be more popular.

When your main attack has a pathetic 4 lines...

It's getting upgraded in the future, but right now they're pretty hindered at endgame.

Their horrendous teleport is a massive turnoff for me.

Currently Evan's have one of the lowest hits/s of any class in 1v1 situations resulting in very poor dps relative to other mages, however after the coming revamp their dps will be greatly improved so you'll likely see more around that time.

I see maxing out at level 180-200 as a good thing, gives me more incentive to want to get there.

We have the worst teleport in the game making it a pain to train to 160 for stronghold. You can feel the pain when you cant teleport up to the platforms in drakes.
