Ms2

Ms2 Alpha test information

Alpha test information for MapleStory 2. It seems really promising. Just hope they allow you to change the controls like MS1 and that it isn't instant dungeon game.

Sept is confirmed for closed beta.

Edit: My bad forgot there was a MS2 section here. Mods if you can move it to right section. Thanks.
About the housing part I just meant it would replace what the henesys of MS was.

I really liked the fact that the FM was an actual market and you had to browse stores to try to find a good deal or actually put work into getting rich by sitting in FM and spamming. "That same logic also goes with selling stuff most people in a game don't want to stand around merching 24/7 either" Yea but those people won't be the ones abusing the AH to become rich, so that doesn't even matter. All I am trying to say is that removing FM and adding an AH is removing a major part of what made many like MS so much and making it insanely easy to get rich without feeling like you have accomplished anything. I and many others have done it in many games, like WoW, D3, Wildstar, and it is going to be the same in MS2. In MS I actually felt like I accomplished something when I made my first 10m, 100m, 1b, and so on.
The Fm system was a terrible and out dated system. It's one of the few games that still have the markets instead of AH. The market shouldn't be your only job in the game to be rich. It should be something that takes a few hours at most to do a bit merching. Ah are nice because you're able to find things easier. The current market system makes merchants hog all the good items and get greedy with prices. It was terrible system and I am glad theirs not going be one in MS2. Why would you want to spend all day merching items when you can go training/bossing? It wasn't challenging to merch it was just too annoying. Then with all the dc hackers and spammers it just made things worse.
@Hermes: I seriously doubt people are going to hang out in their houses 24/7 when there probably is a lot more things to do in the game than being in your house.
That same logic also goes with selling stuff most people in a game don't want to stand around merching 24/7 either, which is why a lot them would buy stores in MS so they can have fun, grind and etc. With an auction house it will allow more people to do the same since they dont have to pay real money to use it unlike MS where you need to buy the store if you wanted to effeciently gain money and do other stuff.

I don't see how the player housing would make the game "anti-social", especially the auction house. If anything they're putting more emphasis on social stuff from everything they showed us. I'm pretty sure they are going to stick with MS1 type of world, "map-to-map" with a little bit more emphasis on dungeons.
Yea but why hang out in the normal world when you can hang out in your own house? I really like just walking through towns and seeing people hanging around.

The FM was probably one of my favorite parts of MS and I am really sad to see it go. I really hate auction houses because they make it insanely easy to become super rich if you find item(s) that you can flip for easy cash. You could obviously also do this in maple but it was harder and actually required dedication to become rich. When D3 came out within the first few weeks I had the top gear due to playing the AH and it made me lose interest because the AH made the game so easy. The only real benefits of it IMO is that it makes the economy more stable overall and prevents noobs from selling items too low and losing out on money. I just really like being around other people in games and feeling that you are just one more person in a world of many different people. MS actually had pros who you looked up to, while it seems like MS2 is going to be like WoW where social interaction is an option and isn't really a part of the game at all.
Honestly with an auction house, player housing, and apparently dungeons (I saw some ppl on the MS2 basil site say this, not sure if its true), it seems like Nexon is trying to make this game anti social. I was really hope they keep party quests because they are so much better than conventional MMO dungeons where all you do is kill 2 or 3 types of mobs and then a boss, without any other mechanics in it at all. Right now I am not very excited.
