Just a random thought about Mages
[b]Note: Don't take this seriously, I was just bored! [/b]
So here I am, one day playing on my f/p doing whatever an f/p mage does when a random thought hit me.
Now, before I say anything else, let's just look at mages in general: They are wielders of the mystical arts who use magic attack to fight (because weapon attack is so mainstream). They wield staffs or wands in order to shoot lightning or arrows of light out of it or even balls of fire with faces on them; bar the battlemage who simply enjoys beating things with their staff that is charged with magical energy or the Evan mage who uses it to command a dragon to do their bidding. But wielding staffs/wands alone isn't what makes mages but rather because of their knowledge in magic. They have access to a wide variety of spells: from basting foes with elemental attacks to creating portals that lead to safety, from spells that invigorate and heal others around you to being able throw your physical body a short distance away in the form of teleport, from making enemies slow and sealing their power to unleashing an enormous, ultra powerful attack that can smite everything in your way.
So with all that in mind, mages are extremely powerful and capable of doing so much with their magic. So if we adeventurer/resistance/hero mages have so much knowledge in magic and can accomplish so much with it..
This is the random question that hits me:

Now before you go saying it's a stupid idea or doesn't make sense, hear me out on this:
Grendel the Really Old (magician instructor) is FLOATING several feet in the air, Robeira (3rd job mage instructor) is hovering while the other instructors are standing around looking pretty, Gritto (4th job mage instructor) is also floating....okay granted all the job instructors are floating too but I have a hunch that Gritto's the one making them float, Margana (CWKPQ mage boss) is also floating, Arkarium (who is an evil mage) is levitating too......hell I'm pretty sure it's obvious that the Black Mage HIMSELF can levitate too! Oz (Blaze wizard) can float!...granted she does when being evil and all but that goes to show that she CAN float if she wanted to. On top of that, almost everything that even resembles a dead mage (Erogoth, Richie, etc) also float! Then there's many other mage NPCs/Monsters that float or can float! (from Corba AKA the fuzzbal in leafre that turns you into a dragon to reach ToT, to the other NPCs in the ToT quest series, to monsters like Malady and Firebrands!)
With that being said, why can't we mages be able to float from the ground? It's makes me a little jealous to see NPC/Monster wizards, witches, sorcerers, mages can while we can't! I mean if we use magic to teleport and shoot fire or lightning or junk, what's so hard about using magic to make yourself float a mere few inches above the ground? I mean, it's not like giving use the power to soar through the air like demon slayers (although that would be pretty cool) but more like how Buccs levitate in their transformed state. (Also makes me jealous that a PIRATE floats while a mage can't)
So...uh, yea, just my random thought! xD

Explorers should be given a specialized mount like Corsairs and Pirates will be in Justice. Let's have Adventurer magicians levitate as their mount.
I must say, It would be awesome to be able to levitate.
Btw, in 1 of the quests I did, you needed to ask Grendel a question, and you had 3 options, 1 of them being "why are you floating?"
He actually answers it saying "If I can do it, why shouldn't I?"
In most universes, mages are the most powerful beings of all (though some of these universes limit them in ways such as low survivability, etc)
It is strange that Maplestory makes them the weakest.
Having this would be nice.

I mean, the swimming/flying animation isn't that bad, it just needs t be fixed up a little. you know, like having a glowing aura thing around, or arange the legs so they don't look like they're pointing down at an unnatural angle! You know, just like how the other levitating folks can levitate!
Though bonus points if the aura when they're floating is a different color depending on which mage is it (like yellow or white for bishops, red for f/ps, blue for i/ls, purple for BaMs, and maybe ornage or gold for evans

Only Psykeepers, But thats the coolest thing about them IMO =P
It would be pretty simple, but they would have to mess with Jumping, and swimming and all the animations...

Well we do learn our skills from a book so I'm guessing some jerk decided to hoard them in his inventory waiting for the day to make them inflate like crazy or they don't want to share their secrets.

That's a good point but I have thought a similiar thing with another class. I have a Corsair that can summon a mystical floating battleship with immense firing power yet I get past by other players walking like I was some old asian lady driving.
