Are you still a weeb if

Are you still a weeb if you're really into anime and manga, but you're half Japanese? Or are you just an otaku? Cause I call myself a weeb sometimes but then I think about the fact that I'm half Japanese and can speak Japanese fluently (yay no subs) so like...?
a weeaboo is an offensive term, don't ever try and label yourself as an otaku and a weeaboo.
Seeing that you are half japanese then no it does not count because the term weeaboo applies to those with no japanese blood (unless u like 1/16 japanese then thats just like na ) If you like anime and manga, then you are a fan. Never label yourself an otaku because it is not a good label you may think it is.
If its offensive then why did you call me one?

I just say anime fan. I don't know why people online call all fans of anime "Weebs" so often. Like okay we like anime, but many anime fans have no allusions of being Japanese aside from the occasional "it would be fun to be in a world like that" but that applies to fantasy in general.

Then again, I've never actually been the target of the negative terms like "weeb," weaboo," etc. Which is good for them because I have a tendency to jump into debates with people given they actually rebut good points and not just throw out insults lol

Both words have negative connotations, and you shouldn't publicly associate yourself with either group.

But think about it for a moment. You're asking complete strangers to help you identify which turbonerd faction you belong in.

Well I know that "otaku" has negative connotations... (believe me, I filled out a survey about my opinion on otakus and I said some pretty harsh things there) But I don't know man, like, whenever I see my other anime trash friends, ALL we talk about is anime... My ideal guy is literally an anime character (Wolfgang Mittermeyer is an amazing guy ok I don't understand why he doesn't have a huge fanbase like Reinhardo-sama or Reuenthal, he is like literally perf)... I guess I'm just anime trash then?

weeb = wannabe japanese, a term used for those who wish they were Japanese and get most, if not all, of their knowledge of Japanese language from watching anime.
so no, you're not. you'd just be an otaku, which also have negative connotations.

You wouldn't want to be called Otaku anyway seeing as it's meaning can be quite negative.

i love the hell out of anim and i don't need a self-deprecating label bc my interest is legitimate and more than superficial
but more than that, i don't need to justify my interest to others to seem like less of a hopeless nerd

ot: otaku is a p extreme label, being japanese and liking anime don't fuse to make someone an immediate otaku. so if you really want to call yourself something, probably weeb.
