Tablet and me don't get along :S

Hey Basil artists,

I bought a Wacom Bamboo tablet about 17 months ago. It's one of the older models with 512 pressure points. I've been toying around with it for ages using different drawing programs (the GIMP, paint.net, Sai, MS4 EX and MS5- yay for having obsessive otaku friends <3) but I can't seem to get the hang of it. I don't have a steady hand so the lines are crooked and randomly thick and thin. I don't have that when I draw "traditionally" using pen, pencils and paper.
I can't change pen pressure or use the mouse mode because as soon as I change the Bamboo's settings, MS4 and MS5 stop working with it, so I have to have to use the Bamboo in default mode all the time. Stabilisers make the drawings look weak because they round everything off so I prefer not to use those.

Any advice?

i use two generation bamboos.
the only real tip i have is to zoom in to a certain degree where your hand flicks will create nice curves and just erase unwanted ends.
time consuming, yes, but gets the job done.
then again, i tend to just go back in and erase the thick strokes to thin out lines like any photoshop user would do nowadays.

pen pressure doesn't really matter if you keep your pen/brush size considerable small, especially on larger canvases.
and the only times you'd need to rely on it is when you're coloring with opacity levels to achieve some sort of effect.
anime shading doesn't even require pen pressure knowledge, just an eraser.

manga studio isn't designed for bamboo drivers. at best the newest update just fixed the intuos4 compatibility.
overall,
again, practice quick-flicks.
it's like the first thing your computer pops up when installing a tablet.

Yep, that's what I'm considering as well; moving drawing between different editing programs. Darn, a Cintiq. That's the stuff for pros.

Thanks for your advice!
