Best laptop brands

I plan on buying a new laptop some time in the near future and need to know what to narrow down my choices to.

Acer makes nice, small to medium sized, portable laptops. I had the Acer Aspire One and it didn't sacrifice build quality/power over portability. But eventually had to get a new one when Starcraft II came out and it couldn't handle it.

Asus makes really big laptops that can play anything you throw at it. But it usually has real low battery life that doesn't really make it ideal for taking everywhere. But I travel a lot and play video games that requires good graphics card, ram, memory, etc. Having a reliable laptop that I can do both is nice. I currently have the Asus G74. Before the Asus G74 I had the previous model, G73, and I felt like I could afford a newer laptop so I got my current one. I gave my G73 to my parents because they were watching their korean dramas on my old, pitifully small Acer and I felt sorry for their viewing experience.

My first laptop was an HP ZD8000. I only reason I bought it because I was a kid back then and had no idea what to look for. Big mistake, the laptop crapped out in like 2 years.

That's all the laptops I've had over like an 8 year time period. Eventually when I settle down I'll build my own PC and be done with laptops.
