Really Crappy Recent Updates
Nexon is running really low on updates / creativity / ideas for MS
...the bear outfit they're releasing that's Permanent has been out forever [released a long, LONG time ago already] and they're also releasing new hair, but none are really interesting.
The only thing that's keeping them alive are the surprise style boxes, huge updates that come every now and then [which Actually...doesn't contain much if you really think about it], players that are hooked/addicted, and players that only come on HOPING for better updates and instead quit again within a few days
If MS2 is their backup plan to keep the MS title alive..they're going to need to release it soon / at least show us SOME gameplay. lol
honestly. if anyone remembers. the real touch of fun and excitement was when Zakum was released, Ludibrium was released, and such. back then, things were appreciated. the community was different. items were valued differently. gameplay was different. a lot of things were better. i'm not saying this because i'm one of those reminiscing I MISS TIGER kind of people, NO. i'm saying it because i've had a taste of OMS and New MS. I compare both and the times back then had something different compared to NOW.
i'm thankful Nexon has made nice updates to the game, but when they do updates, they just update. they used to update by giving indepth previews and showing you what was upgraded to the game. one thing i'm talking about is when they introduced the DOWN JUMP function [falling through a platform] and that was introduced with excitement. little things like that were exciting. now Nexon releases a million things without informing us with no concern whatsoever.
also, what's the big deal with the Server Checks / updates? they dont know how to use the banner at the top [top screen notification] to tell us when an SC is going to occur? lol a lot of things have changed and...unfortunately, really, not for the best. they give give give but it's just not..what we want. some of you might say 'how do you know what WE want' well, you just don't know it yet because you're still addicted or drowned in the game. step out of the box you're in and take a look at the game and what's been happening. it isn't pretty.

You should see the next anniversary. Apparently, it's just as crappy.
@CrazyTiger School isn't a factor. Even in Summer Vacation, this game is empty/
Personally for me, I do believe gms needs their own design team away from kms.

And that "new and interestong content" is either severely flawed and unfair (Boss Arena), can be finished in a few hours and never to be done again (Grand Anthenaeum), is just old content with different coloured skins (Twisted Aqua Road), nerfing a favourite skill (Kishin)...

Yeah i agree. Nothing fun, new, creative, or imaginative coming from nexon. All events involve killing x number of monsters, collecting x number of drops, logging on for x number of hours, etc...The anniversary shop is great this year but this has to be the least eventful anniversary nexon has ever done.

Nexon HQ: Lets wait until our players almost flat out leave then catch them by surprise with some huge class revamp. Then we'll release more impossible bosses alongside a new set of in game equipment that puts everything else to crap to encourage players to waste more money. Finally, when that cash cow gets dry, we'll constantly release cosmetic sales to keep those nxaholics who already spent hundreds of dollars switching over to the new sets we released and perfecting them preoccupied and still spending. After several months of doing crap we'll do another class revamp and repeat the process.

Maybe this summer, Maple will be flooded? Probably not but Hope is a good thing
where were you last week when they updated gameplay and ran events?
cant you be satisfied with one major update per month...
you cant complain that every week theyre changing cosmetics while the content of the game is updated every so often
also, I actually think that some content is too near to one another, just look at the next month, once the current
events are over they will release the summer update, for now I think they can ease up a bit so people will have time to do other
stuff and not have one update right after the other.
besides, why do anyone complain about Nexon renewing the cash shop? thats literally how they make money...

we're still in the anniversary update. what you mentioned were just the cash shop updates, which are their own category. which happen weekly, by the way. they aren't meant to update gameplay.
not to mention that we had the legacy of 9 just a few days ago, with revamps, soul weapons, guild/pet revamps on top of new events.
wait till june 10 when the anniversary ends.
You also fail to capitalize on the anniversary events that gets people hooked into perfect their weapons which costs NX.
You do know that the small minority of MS players, which are the super super rich merchants and scroll-ers will not stop buying NX right? They make a big enough return already from boss drops and merchanting.

MS2 and MS will be separate games with different developers. It's no where near the same game. Ahem, 3D. People are drawn to Maplestory because of it's unique style of a 2D game. Updates don't have to be based on just NX items and hair you know. There are plenty of things that have been added since I started playing again (2 months ago) and I'm happy to say that I haven't done everything yet. lol
