@strauss08: alright you're still using two different situations. are you even using your brain right now because you're obviously have enough of one for reading comprehension but not enough to understand that the two scenario's are different. and i dont really care about this person anymore since this isnt even their own channel despite the original presentation where it looked like they were the uploader. so if im going to be jumping in the water i think you should take a dip first.

@star909: literally your first comment is "when you gonna upload your own content". Lol before calling anyone else stupid, how about reading your own retarded words and meaning to them. Please go jump in a lake of fire =D

@strauss08: you're pretty stupid too huh, who's like "oh this person uploaded this" have some common sense. also the word you're looking for is annoying and im fully aware that im being annoying. thats the entire point.

@star909: actually you are being a massive pain. How does it affect you if someone shares a video? If you show an online video to someone you know, do you let them know every time who the uploder is? Just because someone shares a video doesn't immediately make them the creator of the video. Please go get an actual life and stop being whatever you're being now.

@star909: If it was my own channel then all the videos I've uploaded would be on it. Thinking about it I see that the way i presented the content might make some see it as my own but I've never personally uploaded one of these videos to youtube or any other media sharing site. In my mind it made natural sense for people to understand that it wasn't my video but when uploading I didn't account for those who would think otherwise.

@powerlad88: I'm not being irrelevant, im talking to the wrong person, which you didnt really clarify that this was someone else's channel.

Nexon needs to revamp the boss system having a easy, normal, hard/chaos mode for each of the main bosses.

@star909: simply putting any content i release wouldnt be interesting enough to share since theres thousands of videos exactly like it and my damage range is quite underwhelming. I just post new videos about new bosses. I'm obviously not stealing videos since im not claiming to be the person in these videos. Am i gaining ad revenue for posting these videos to Basil? I'm really not gaining anything besides sharing them with people who havent seen them yet. If you have seen it already then it shouldn't really affect you. If your thinking that its posted to my personal youtube channel then your wrong. The original owner of those accounts in most of the videos I've posted didnt post the video on youtube themselves but since I can't speak Korean to find the original source thats where i got it from. If i was making some sort of personal profit off of this I'd understand you but since I'm not your being irrelevant. After starting the video you can click "watch on youtube.com" and it'll take you to the user i got the video from.

@littletlk: You would still complain even if they nerfed her HP to 1/10 of its current value (1.45T over each of her 2 forms, instead of 14.5T). To balance it, the coin drop rate would have to be near zero because right now she only drops 1/week. Let's say she drops a "lesser" Time token that is exchangeable for a "normal" Time token at a 4:1 ratio. Then you would still complain that P2W players have the upper hand because only they can get say a weapon in the "proper" 5 months of grinding whereas easy mode would require 20 months. I don't think you understand that getting more than 1 piece, even if you were able to kill her normal form, takes literally forever. The whole point of this update is to grind, grind, grind, even if you were able to kill her right now.

"No one would even want to bother upgrading to the new equipment set because of the insane amounts of investment they'd have to put into their current set to even GET the new set. And even if they did upgrade, it's a diminishing returns scenario because the damage increase is relatively small."

This is why the game is dead. Any sort of content is "not worth it" unless it massively improves your damage output with little to no effort in improving your current gear (see Gollux) or you can get carried through it. The entire point of an MMO is to release incremental gear upgrades so that you don't get massive power creep. Ironically what you're asking for is even more power creep so that you can completely throw away what you currently have, replace the current status quo with some massively overpowered new set where everyone would upgrade. What you're asking for is literally for players to stop caring about upgrading the gear they have because some new overpowered set will come out in a few months that's stupid simple to get even for people who don't upgrade their current gear. That's 2012 mentality with the massive amounts of new, entirely overpowering sets released - Reverse, Timeless, Von Leon, Loveless, Empress, CRA, Tyrant.

Do you want to know what that resulted in? Massive player discontent with having to recube their sets literally multiple times a year because there was a new overpowered set coming out every update that would completely make the previous set obsolete.

@risingrain:

Now listen here:
You're obfuscating the point. The problem is not the type of game Maple is. It's HOW the game is implemented.
Can you not understand that, or are you deliberately missing the point? THE WAY IN WHICH THIS CONTENT IS BEING PRODUCED IS THE PROBLEM.
It's fine to have new content. It's needed. It's fine to make new content really hard and require massive upgrading. That's fine. What's not fine is locking that content off to only the smallest amount of players.
All of my issues with the Chew Chew island area and the Lucid boss would be solved by implementing an "easy" mode with vastly reduced HP and fewer rewards.
But rather than do this, Nexon has decided to make the content like they always do. Release near unbeatable content with ridiculously cheap attack patterns, then release new P2W ways to beat them later on.
That may be a very clever way to make tons of money, but it's a terribly destructive and cancerous PR model. It kills off the playerbase by placing the new content out of their reach.
Furthermore, the rewards for beating these bosses is hardly worth it. No one would even want to bother upgrading to the new equipment set because of the insane amounts of investment they'd have to put into their current set to even GET the new set. And even if they did upgrade, it's a diminishing returns scenario because the damage increase is relatively small.
This is not a good way to release new content that many players will want to participate in and enjoy.

The fact that you can't or won't see this is part of the problem.

@littletlk: If all you can say is call my comment cancer, then there's really no point in arguing with you.
The game is dead in the West already; GMS is kept alive by the proceeds of the Eastern servers funding us (TMS, CMS, KMS).
GMS makes pretty much no money for Nexon America; their new games are much more profitable.

If progression in a type of game that's solely designed for endless progression (that's what MMOs are - there's no way you can design enough content so that players don't run out of it without something similar to dailies/weeklies, RNG systems, etc) doesn't interest you there are plenty of sandbox games around for you to play. Western players typically aren't fans of the grinding/time-gated/potentially P2W nature of Korean MMOs. Last I heard No Man's Sky was a pretty big flop though.

@ragerraging: Yes i go to the korean equivalent of basil because its not even that hard to find. If you're too lazy too lazy to link a video but not lazy enough to put in on youtube yourself wtf are you doing.

@risingrain:
Your comment is cancer and you should feel bad for perpetuating a toxic player mentality.
You are the problem with this MMO and why it will DIE.
Throwing a boss at us with 30 trillion HP isn't a "challenge." It's a paywall.

@ulllll: Dude, it's about time they released content that actually requires more funding to complete.

It boggled my mind before the newest iteration of bosses (Damien) that CRA/Hmag/Hellux are still considered bosses nearly 3-4 years after they've been released because they are still Best in Slot gears. Talk about serious stagnation.

CRA and CVel can be easily soloed with much less than 2m-2m range (especially with classes like Evan). It's silly to have the mentality of not upgrading past a certain point because it's worthless - that kind of mentality is toxic for a MMO, in which the entire point of the game is to keep improving your gears with each new iteration of content because the game has no endgame. Sure, the problem with Maple is that progression is tied to money, but with the range and damage cap removal in V it is about time content came out that actually requires much more funding to complete.

People complained about the game being too solo-based. Indeed, that was the case. Nearly all of the endgame bosses before the last iteration of bosses (CRA/Hmag/Hellux) could be easily soloed by 1 player (maximum amount of players for that boss is 6) using only a fraction of that character's true potential. Now, no single player is able to take down Hard Lotus, Hard Damien, or Lucid, regardless of how funded they are. Classes no one used before like Paladin or Bishop are now useful in PARTIES for their massive %Final Damage buffs in 5th job + attack speed/constant dispels for Bishop. Classes that attack slow but hit hard are actually relevant in bossing compared to using only "who has the most HPS because we can all hit cap" classes.

Those life bars remind me of Kingdom Hearts.

Dang bosses with their ridiculous amount of HP bars

Even the clocktower before the fight reminds me of Big Ben secret boss from KH1. The horrors.

It just bugs me how they're designing all these bosses lately... Basically screw you over when you die, making chain deaths a thing...and forget rebuffing, when are you possibly going to have time for that? A health pool that requires a massive raid team to get down on other mmorpg's, while here you're mostly limited to 6 players, and all those 6 players better be damn near god status...just getting our current dmg range cap is barely enough for anything anymore. Oh and don't forget the orgy of effects on screen/ground cluttering a 1366x768 resolution game to the max, not to mention the huge ammounts of stupid equipment and pets with animations and other stuff we have to wear to be able to sustain our damage. And god forbid you bring other people to bossing (taking this one as example), you're bombarded with huge numbers of your damage and your teammates' damage numbers, further covering up the boss you're trying to take down...hiding all sorts of visual cues that you want to react to, cause if you don't 9/10 times...you die.

TLDR: Boss design in maple are getting stupid and way out of hand.

The boss is too strong.
The entire Chew Chew Island area is a punishment to those players that can't afford to pay2win.
I hate that they keep doing this. Locking off content to only the top 0.01% of players.
Can't they at least add an easy mode?

Kakaroot or whatever his name was did this type of content and his channel got terminated. It's just a matter of time till a korean reports it for copyright strike.

sadly the rewards for the hardest bosses have almost always been trash, i mean a 267 attack dagger is nice.. if you clear this boss 24 times..
