Help me write a Thesis
Hey fellow Basilers! ive ran into a little wall while writing an essay on the story: "Death of a salesman" by Arthur Miller. Im supposed to write an essay revolving around Death/Loss/Mortality and i cant think of a really good Thesis statement to start off my paper. Anyone have any ideas?

@WindowLegs: Oh! your making me blush. Thanks for the compliment!
@Raginroxas you are my favourite basiler!
@xdwow thats actually a really good idea for a ending paragraph!
"It is without a doubt that a man's goals in life are to obtain his happiness, to live by his ideologies, and to pursue his dreams. However such cannot come without paying a price. Yet if the price is too high to pay, is it worth it?"
Edit: Not really a thesis statement, but it's something you could expand upon if you fancy it.
@Sezbeth thanks for the information.
@simaini Yea i guess ill just rework some of my footnotes i listed above. Thanks dude!
I would suggest writing your essay first and your thesis later. That way you can just organize your thesis to what your essay is actually about instead of writing an essay on what your thesis is!
I think what you wrote above, "When it comes to mortality Perhaps Arthur Miller is trying to express that everyone is simply human and that following the american dream is something that humans will try to reach for no matter the cost?" can be your thesis statement I never read the book so I have no idea what it's about, but if you reword whatever you just wrote then I think it can be a fine thesis statement. maybe something like, "miller's statement on mortality is that everyone is human, and they will pursue their dreams by any means necessary"
The thesis is simply a proposition. Just find a way to articulate the above points into maybe, one-to-three sentences to form said proposal, then base the essay around the ordered format in which the thesis is constructed on. Constructing a thesis is actually easier than most people make it seem. I could easily make one for you, but that would be against my principles regarding academics.
P.S. Don't forget the thesis statement at the end of the paper.
bob or tanakaaa
@Sezbeth Well i know for a fact Willy dies following his ideals to the very end. Throughout the story the main focus revolves around the "American Dream" what Willy basically trys to achieve as well as push down his sons throats. Besides Willy losing his life, he also losses he's sanity as well as the love and respect his family and friends had for him. You could also argue that Biff lost his innocence after seeign his father have an affair with another women besides his mom/ When it comes to mortality Perhaps Arthur Miller is trying to express that everyone is simply human and that following the american dream is something that humans will try to reach for no matter the cost? I seems to have the ideas, but have no idea how to write it out to make a thesis
First off, how would you describe the relation between said story and the concepts of death, loss, and mortality?
Once you establish that, the thesis is cake.
