Alright, 1.2.023 was released.

Straight from http://www.southperry.net/showthread.php?t=77987 . It's a rough translation but I think I've interpreted a few of them to be pretty exciting. It might not actually be what was implemented however. Please wait for official translations though.

I wrote the post before checking the video, can confirm Drain is 5% HP now.
Adrenaline boost still shows the number 2, and if I'm reading these really fast moving numbers correctly, I'm not seeing +2 lines, or +1 lines either for that matter. FB still seems to be 5 hits.

It's a little hard to understand, but it feels important. Should have something to do with arrow key commands being able to be disabled.

I think on death, we no longer lose all of our combos (initialized being set to 0). This is wonderful for CRA/Magnus/Gollux/everything with a spawn counter, since the removal of Combo Recharge. >Confirmed at 5:38, he keeps his 580 combo between death.< Good.

Reference value is likely the amount of combos needed to get the next stat boost, which IIRC was every 100 combos from 100-1000 now. I'm thinking that they reduced it to maybe 500 to hit the max stat boosts? It's a little difficult getting 1000 combos on solo boss fights and I'd rather not go that long without bonus stance/status resist so this is great as well.

Key down possibly being able to just hold down the button instead of tapping the key for each hit? I'm a bit skeptical of this if other classes still have to mash for their attacks, but it'll be less carpal tunnel for us if this is the case. Though my fingers are battle hardened at this point anyways heh.

More attack reach. Great if the Swings play a bigger part in our rotation(which I think they do), so if it matches FB/Beyonder reach then it's nice.

Undispellable, and maybe not a trash 2% recovery hopefully. 5%+ perhaps? I know they won't bring it back to pre-drain nerf values though if everyone was nerfed across the board.

...."[Adrenaline boost]: Attack speed reduction is erased and the number of attacks increased functionality is added."

Instead of +2 attack speed, we get an extra line(s). +2 attack speed is pretty significant if it breaks cap, though it seems like it doesn't break soft cap. Green pot remedies it but it's getting removed anyways -so-, more lines to compete with other classes at damage cap is good. This should also make up for the loss of the FB +1 attacks hyper.

I'm glad they're making proactive changes to deal with the new ones that came up, and hope the final result is a great one for all of us. On a side note FemAran is smiling now. Badass look was good enough but whatever. New default eyes and hair. Fem Ponytail is pretty nice. Bun looks like Evan hair. Male spikes is uh, different now. Eyes for both are pretty meh. I'm not sure what {Bayonne no}translates to (I think Beyonder?) but number of hits was decreased for it if so.
Also wtb>old basil commenting formats, can't reduce the size of this post with quotes. [] Brackets seem to be invisble in posts as well, probably for being used to reference current skills or something.

So apparently after this update the combo for max damage would be swing (for 2s 50% dmg boost which lets you follow up w/ 2 FB+BB combo) + FB&BB + FB&BB, and someone from Insoya tested out the dmg calcs pre/post update for different types of attacking under same conditions for 1 minute w/o interruption taking adrenaline mode into account (all values below are x 100m dmg):
KMS FB+BB = 92
KMSt FB+BB (w/o boost from Swing) = 144 (~1.6x live)
KMSt Swing+FB&BB+FB&BB = 226 (~2.5x live)

Obviously this is only theoretical assuming you can deal a full minute of dmg without interruptions, but considering how much easier it has become to enter adrenaline mode (every ~1min), it would still be a major boost compared to before. People are still pretty upset about the removal of 15% dmg reduction during BB, but it's undoubtedly a major buff for the class and fixed many of its glaring flaws.

P.S. apparently there's a bug with Beyond Blades which is preventing the 100% crit chance from occurring properly + dealing 1 less line each on the 2nd & 3rd BB, so the actual value would most likely be even higher than this.

@royalonee: I think/hope so!(though not like I can change to fem hair anyways) Old Kannas and Hayatos got to switch their hair from the maple admin. I'm just wondering if these are completely separate hairs or if they replace the old ones - probably separate.

Do u think we'll get the hair? Just got my Female aran to Lv. 100. Want to make it look almost exactly like the picture

Edit: I'm def leaning towards Aran a lot more now, just need to wait 5+ months LOL

New female Aran hair is awesome. Male aran hair and both evan hairs suck. Also all the eyes suck too.

@raiden: Old Final Blow was down down + attack, so thats sort of a reason since they're trying to go back to old aran style, but who knows.
Edit: woops I was wrong. I seem to remember using down down + attack in the old days, either my memory is foggy or I was playing aran wrong!

@trumpet205: tornado hits 1 line yes. But with correct funding and can prove quite useful in sdh. If it sucks in enemies from the middle if the stage it cabs be quite good used in tandem with the new ultimate.

Hunters targeting is still underwhelming. It needs to hit at least 20 times for it be useful or be able to surpass the dmg cap

All these are awesome!

Now if only they can make boost end hunters targeting useful... It's quite underwhelming late game only dealing 10 lines and only usable in adrenaline mode.

With fb + beyonder + final attack + after image attack + extra hits in adrenaline mode + energy wave from fb there's no reason to ever use it

@raiden: if you just use Smash Swing without any arrow keys held down, you won't move at all. But if you use the arrow keys, you'll move in the direction you choose.

BEST improvement to Aran. Aran Master Race!

Side note: As expected they reverted the mastery back to 70% along with min. critical damage. On the bright side High Defense was increased to 40% to account for the loss of Combo Barrier.

Did I miss something? Did they bring back the whole 'move slightly in the direction you're attacking in' thing?
Final blow is back to Down + Attack, not sure why it changed in the first place.
Rolling spin damage increase to 595% is pretty kek but I'm still not going to use it. Same for the link skill. It may be a huge increase to 650% but it's not a combat benefit, and it's not Merc's 10/15%. But it's free so whatever I guess At least we have our Silent Crusade skill.

On an unrelated note, I don't know why they bother "temporarily" closing down MPE - that isht~ isn't going to get revisited again just like the closed down maps. They could just keep both up, and I don't know if Greed pendants will still drop after that either. MVP status for buying more NX is also very kek.

Wow Nexon, clap-clap. You addressed almost all of the complaints I had with the previous patch. It's also amazing how they applied my thoughts on Normal/Advanced Combo Ability and Adrenaline Boost almost word for word. Good job.

The nerf in Beyonder was justified as Adrenaline Boost can be accessed faster and now gives us +2 attack lines instead of the virtually useless +2 attack speed that couldn't break the soft speed cap. It's still getting a +50% damage boost and +1 line (making it 6 lines) with the Hyper Skill passives. It was a totally fair nerf.

The only complaints I have now are:
1) Include some sort of key-canceling skill so we can immediately stop our long attacking animations in order to dodge an attack or something.
2) Make Maha's Domain faster to use. The skill animation is currently 2490ms long, which is just far too long.
3) Get rid of Rolling Spin completely and add a skill with higher utility. Even increasing its damage to 595% from 150% isn't going to do much in terms of usability when Final Blow is still better in all situations.

Eh, not sure why they would nerf Beyonder (if that's what it actually translates to). I'd much rather have an extra line on Beyonder rather than lines on Adrenaline, but I guess they want to make sure you go into Adrenaline mode.
