Fun Fact: Wind Pierce never procs final attack, making it worse than most other skills in third job
Well, it's not that fact that makes Wind Piercing worse, as FA only works with one mob anyway, and Wind Piercing is already weaker without adding FA onto the other skills. It does make Iron Arrow better though on singular mobs until level 60, and in second job you use Iron Arrow for everything. But then again you don't max FA until 59 according to the guide's skill build.

And well, as a fact, it's not entirely correct, as you can proc FA with it.

Not only Dragon's Breath, but Piercing Arrow as well especially during Chaos.

But yeah, not even useful at 3rd job, much less 4th job. It's stronger than Iron Arrow, at least. Not by much at all, though, seeing as it's not even maxed during those levels.
No the UA version does not drain.

OT: Yes, listen to the guy who said that it beats pierce until pierce is lvl 20, the ua skill IS useful because it allows you to focus on increasing other skills before piercing arrow, which kinda sucks anyway in the main training spot (lhc) if the map isnt glitched. Also i imagine it would be pretty nifty for balrog pq :o
Dragon's Breath is better than Wind Piercing with its base damage, and even if it's unmaxed at level 16, it still destroys Wind Piercing as it has a damage per mob effect like Piercing Arrow. Of course, moreso when it is maxed.

That said, level 1 Pierce is stronger than Dragon's Breath up to 4 mobs. The chart on @Ngame989's guide that @WolfPak linked to is not incorrect, it's just outdated. For example, Piercing Arrow doesn't do 715% at level 1 anymore.

So to answer your question @RedRhino23, Wind Piercing is weaker than Dragon's Breath, which is weaker than Piercing Arrow but hits more mobs when Piercing Arrow is at level 1. However, I should add that Piercing Arrow is better than Wind Piercing even at 6 mobs, so it destroys it at level 1 since it has no drain ability. In fact, I'm just waiting for it to happen.

Does it "Inflict significant damage to multiple enemies with a single powerful blow and absorbs a portion of the as HP. You cannot absorb more than half of your Max HP or more than the enemy's Max HP?"

^ Description of the same skill Wind Archers have.

I would still use Blizzard over Wind Pierce since Blizzard is so much faster.

Someone in charge of the calculations actually proved that Wind Pierce is better than Piercing to a particular number of mobs, up until level 20 Pierce. I looked it up regarding my own MM, so great stuff to know.

I'll look around for where I got the details, I think it was on a guide.

Basically, the %DPM per mob on on Pierce falls behind Wind Pierce. Since Wind Pierce can be used for that long of a period of time, you can wind up just maxing other skills you need, such as MMB or Spirit Link, etc. It wouldn't be as much of a priority.

Nope, Irena's Wind Piercing is completely overshadowed by Piercing Arrow and Wind piercing is just Plainly Slow
