Falling asleep in class

HOW DO I REMEDY THIS?

I keep falling asleep in my Biological Anthropology class. It's at 11:45 a.m. I eat breakfast, and I've usually been up for 3 hours by the time the class rolls around so it's not like I just woke up. I tried chewing gum, that didn't work, and I tried digging my nails into my face when I leaned on my hand - that didn't work either. And it's not like the teacher is a bad teacher or anything, and it's not boring to me, but my eyes keep closing!

Any suggestions? Usually I grab lunch right before this class cause I have another class right after that runs til 2. I don't fall asleep in any other class.
Oh also I dislike tea & coffee, sorry.

TL;DR
Falling asleep in class, suggestions to stay awake?

what i did to prevent myself from sleeping was by having the arm that i was using to hold my head while sleeping be near the edge of the table. the sudden jolt of my head falling kept me wide awake for the remainder of the class. or by having a friend smack my head while i was falling asleep. although having the professor waking me up was a good way to never fall asleep in their class.

Try a nice cold shower in the morning and before you go, try to wash your face with cold water.

Normally, I feel really sleepy when the temp. get hotter.

Two questions:

1. What kind of education are you in right now? (ie: High school, college) (Sorry in advance: idk what classes other schools have)
2. Did you ever get caught sleeping before?

Oh him. No! My prof isn't bad at all. He can be a bit funny, and he's pretty straight forward. The Power points are visually stimulating and very understandable.

@xtripled: I'll try that on Friday if I can find a small towel!

@remembrent: bring a wet towel with you to class, keep it in zip lock bag and scrub your face with it when you're sleepy
@remembrent: maybe its just the teacher. is he one of those Ben Stein types?
I don't know who that is/what his personality is like.

@Flexography: That's actually a good suggestion! The only thing is, I don't tend to talk in classes in general as it makes me really anxious, and this particular prof times it so that if no one asks any questions, we're done exactly on time. Or I don't usually have anything to say tbh.

@Flexography: I don't have additional $ for that. The amount I'm allotted is enough for one meal /day.
@Zoneflare4: I don't fall asleep in other classes so I don't think it's because of my sleep habits.
@xtripled: Yeah I drink water every so often, but when I'm not drinking it I fall asleep... and I can't have it to my mouth the whole time! And I sit in the 2nd row, to the side behind a friend. She just giggled at me when I fell asleep/opened my eyes.
@LuckyNinja: I don't drink soda either :s
@n0Balls: Again, I don't really have additional $ for that. I could possibly eat only a little bit of lunch, but that would interrupt my schedule, since like today I went to the gym right after class & I don't want to throw up.
@Dorks: I don't really drink juice but I feel like it might not help cause it's not at my mouth the entire class time.
@metaghost4: I've gone to class before without eating and then all I can think about is food lol. So I guess I'm not falling asleep but I'm not paying attention either.

I remember taking an econ class sometime after lunch and I would bring my lunch with me then proceed to knock out.

Diluted juice might help.

I usually get sleepy after I eat a meal...perhaps just eat a snack before that class?

Try a can of soda before you go.

play music in 1 earphone, cold beverages, a friend to keep you up, if all else fails sit in front of the class so if you do fall asleep your prof can yell at you
