Kanna and Hayato Availability Temporarily Suspended Aug 19

Someone catch me, I'm going to pass out from excitement. (Kannas already have their own thread, so I figured I'd make one for Hayatos).

Creation is being suspended so that Nexon can have some breathing room to work on the update. This is the first sign we've been given that Nexon is making progress on bringing the revamp to GMS. We also have a time frame of when to expect it (later this year!) so this is good news overall.

I hated the idea of Flash Jump at first (seeing as how we have so many mobility skills already, FJ feels redundant) but I think I'm slowly beginning to like it. It has potential to be interesting. One way I can imagine using it would be to use Vapor Blade after Flash Jump so that Vapor Blade gains more horizontal movement. Then again, the forward push of Hayato's Flash Jump might not be strong enough, so it might not work as well as I think. Oh well, only way to be sure is to test it when the revamp comes.

Maybe there's going to be an event where we get prizes and other nice things for leveling a Hayato (or Kanna), so consider saving a character slot!
Revamp or not. I still love hayato as a reminder to samurai champloo, its so nostalgic.

tbh i liked hayato without flash jump. made me feel unique when I had to use alternatives to fly around a map.

I'm probably going to mainly use the new Battojutsu stance [ Sanrenzan] for bossing because it has high % and relatively quick. down side is few few lines.

I'm withholding my judgement until revamp day. After all, how something sounds is often very different to putting it in practice. It might not end up being that bad.
Also, they already do have i-frames. Surging Blade, Falcon Dive, Sweeping Sword and Whirlwind Cut. And I'm pretty sure they're getting an extra one after the revamp.

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding, but I don't think it's fair to dismiss Hayato combos on the grounds that it doesn't have "maximum damage output". I mean dodging attacks and moving into correct positioning is also very important when it comes to bossing. Being able to do both is something Hayatos excel at, so Hayato combos do very much have their place in bossing.
That said, I'm hoping the team behind this revamp made sure that our bossing skills are smooth and can seamlessly link into our other skills. I'm putting all my hopes that 1v1-Sanrenzan will meet this expectation; keydown Shinsoku is just weird.
"Combos for maximum damage output" seems like a playstyle that's more suited to Zeroes, to be honest. But the design philosophies behind both classes is a discussion that's best left for another thread.
@yearn Not that I'm against the idea of more damage, but I would prefer this way instead: make Hayato combos more appealing by introducing more boss fights where their skills can really shine - fights where there is a lot of movement and dodging involved. I had an absolute blast when I fought Lotus in Black Heaven. We need more of that kind of design.
@piana. The only way to make comboing attacks appealing is by increasing their damage and damage cap to be more output than mashing 1-2keys

@piana: Eh, it's hard to say. That new stance system is disappointing, but it's not like any skills are being removed, so I don't think Hayato's playstyle will become worse. In fact we're getting new skills (new skills = new combos!)
