Channel etiquette

So with so many issues with ks wars at certain channels, especially during 2x, this sorta raised a question for me. If a ch is occupied by a couple people (appear to be afk NOT attacking) is it ok to take over the channel since they're not actually attacking or do you leave because they were technically there first?
I'd love to hear opinions

I really hope we follow KMS and turn those SH maps into starforce maps with the for us nerfed gms.

Pretty much this. You can't go afk on a map and expect to say it's still yours when you decide to come back... if you were gone for a minute or two, perhaps... but even then, if you had to leave the computer, you weren't in control of the map. Do the right thing and move on.

The way I see it, If they don't attack for ~30 minutes, the channel is up for grabs.
Unless they're not afk and waiting for their attacker, then use your discretion. But if they insist that the map is theres, either leave or get ready for a KS war.

Basically, I find it ok to kill when a person is af[k]ing there, however when they unafk i'll give the ch back to them or offer to share with them simply because it's not worth the fuss/drama over a ch.
This is only when I'm unable to find a ch with no one there ;3
Also, ks macro users they deserve to be ksed

I CC to find a free channel and if ALL the maps are taken, then I might ask to join some parties (usually fails) and then I eventually just a pick a map with the weakest attackers and start attacking.

Also, attacking =/= ksing. I hate retards who think this. KSing = Kill Stealing, as in I'm purposely trying to steal YOUR kills. Which is usually what I'm NOT doing. How do you explain this to 13 year olds who just started puberty though?

I ain't got time fo dis drama nonsense. (Note: Only happens at MP3 and SDH out of all the training maps I've used 1-200)

Usually I change channels until I find an empty one, and if the others are all full I'll go back to the one with afk people and wait a bit. At least attack on a different side of the map as them. If they come back though, it's polite to leave (never know when someone's on a bathroom break/food run). Honestly I haven't seen any KS wars since 2009.. the game is never that full. I've never had a problem finding an empty map.

General etiquette:
- Don't ask to join a party unless the people attacking clearly can't handle the map (hitting 1m lines). It is also okay for people that hit 600k lines to use a map. You don't need to hit 7m each hit to use a map. Don't "encourage" people to leave by killing the monsters.
- When people decline party invites, leave the map. Don't keep asking. It doesn't matter if you're a kanna or have an experience boosting skill. Sometimes the party has its reasons to decline a kanna. Maybe they have out of party kanna coming.
- Only ask to join the party if you are within level range. Don't complain about people not adding you to parties if you're out of level range.
- Always assume people in the map attacking have another character that hits 50m lines who are just as vengeful as the most elitist players in the game. This way you don't go around being overly rude to anyone you see. I see way too many rude people now bullying weaker players.
- Ask if someone is done with a map when you enter. Ask if people are afk if you suspect them to be gone. If they answer, they aren't gone. Sometimes people watch shows while training so give them like 10 seconds to respond. You can also use a large map attack move to get their attention. I often use my other monitor while training. If someone is just sitting in the map and there's no drops on the floor still ask if they are done with the map. After a while just attack if there's no response.
- AFK training is fine. Ksing afk training is also fine. Kill stealing people that aren't afk is rude, regardless of their range. People that are afk won't even know if you are ksing or not. If you don't like them afk training and taking up a map, then you can report them. Otherwise just let them be. Also just because someone doesn't respond to you doesn't mean they are afk. They could be rude, don't feel like losing their combo, or just not in the mood to respond to "PARTY ME" in all caps.
- Leaving a map for any reason means you lose the map. It is good to give people a few minutes to come back and reclaim a map but really if you left a map you left it.

I ask to join their party> if they don't appear online- attack. Because Knock* knock* ^No ones home...
If they respond and tell me to join their party> Attack
If they respond and ask me to leave> I'll leave. But Ill usually ask them to whisper me if there is an opening.

Here are my rules for maps:
Don't think you can take a map just because you think they're macroing. If someone's attacking, just leave.
Check the level of the players there before asking to join their party. I don't add people to my party. But the amount of people above the 40 level difference is ridiculous.
You begging to get into the party won't get you in.
If you're going to leech, you won't be in my party.
Check to see if we have a phantom/bishop and kanna before asking if we need kishin and hs.

Now to answer your question. I give it a 5 minute rule. If nobody is attacking in the map, I first check to see if any of them are there by asking. If nobody replies, I attack for 5 minutes. If someone comes back by then, I'll leave. If not, then it's my map.

If they don't come back within 5 minutes, it's my map till I'm done attacking.

Well if they're afk I would say why not use it? But if they ask you to leave (in a civilized why not "cc biatch&quot I guess you can ask to party or try to find another map. Seriously, I don't see the point in some afker coming back after hours and complaining about you attacking or whatever. It's not hurting them cause they're not even doing anything. Especially if it's difficult to even find an empty map, imo it's okay to attack.

The main issue is at SDH 30 minutes before 2x. My friend came in and started attacking 10 minutes later the afkers in question tell us to cc. it turned into this huge ks drama thing and i'm wanting to know which is more right.

If they're not doing anythere there, the map should be up for grabs. Parking your rear end on a map doesn't automatically make it yours, you have to be actually using it
