When I enter threads, I end up down at the comments.
What the title says.
Whenever I enter a thread, it doesn't stay at the top, it goes to the middle of the comment section.
I think (but nothing more than that) it might have something to do with when you try to post on a thread that suddenly has gotten locked, or when you take too long, but I have no idea what to do about it.
It gets annoying having to scroll up to the top every time.
Any ideas, BasilMarket?

No, a clean # is for the top of the page. It's been like that since ages, basic HTML. Go somewhere that's scrollable, ie http://www.teamfortress.com, scroll a bit. Go to the address bar, and add a simple # behind it. It automatically goes to the top of the page.
I don't see why Mr. Basil has this on his links though, it makes no freaking sense, cause the urls would function normally without a # as well.
I don't think the problem happens if you click to a specific page on the thread instead of clicking on the thread title. I could be wrong, but I just noticed it didn't happen when I entered this thread by clicking page 2.
Correct, that's because there aren't any # at the end of the URL.

I use chrome as well.
Hey, that's it!
Yeah. It seemed a bit weird with the number sign at the end of the links. Thank you. And, guess I'll just have to live with it for now. Or switch browsers.
....
I want to stick with Chrome. (;
The "#" is supposed to anchor the page to the beginning of the comments, but I guess for some reason Chrome messes it up.
It's the # at the end of the URL that is causing this problem.
Click theese liks and see if there is any difference:

This is nothing that you can fix, only Mr.B can fix this but I can't see how that will happens due to his lazyness...

Oh wow, that's funny; When I enter comments, I end up up at the comments! Weird huh? Either way, Firefox 3.6 doesn't do this, Firefox 4.0b8 doesn't do this, and neither does IE8.
Show me what the thread overview links to (any random thread), and when you click it, what's the url then? Also specify what browser.

Exactly as you posted, except I use Chrome.

So, it happens in Chrome and Safari, but not Firefox. I'm on FF too.
Any IE people want to throw something out there?
Same thing happens to me, but its not really a problem because it only takes one push of the home button to get to the top anyway.
This is true. But it can still be tedious.
It used to happen to me too and is still occasionally happening. Back then it was a Chrome problem. I'm still using Chrome. What browser do you use?
....Chrome. You might be onto something.
