Rebooting the Corsair

Well Im sure many Sairs have already seen the patch notes, so I thought I would make a thread here to discuss the changes as to if it really addressed our concerns or added more. Any who here are the translated notes for the Corsair re-balance

Corsair's utility skills cause a high penalty when they die due to Summon Crew and Lucky Dice, so we reduced their cooldowns. We also adjusted some of their numbers upward and improved on the low utility Nautilus skill.

-Gun Booster: duration has been decreased from 200 seconds to 180 seconds
-Summon Crew : cast delay has been decreased from 1440ms to 900ms
-Infinite Bullets: cast delay has been decreased from 1500ms to 990ms
-Lucky Dice: cast delay has been decreased from 1500ms to 990ms
-Double Lucky Dice: duration has been decreased from 200 seconds to 180 seconds, cooldown has been decreased from , cast delay has been decreased from 200 seconds to 180 seconds
-Hollowpoint Bullet : cast delay has been decreased from 1500ms to 990ms
-Fusillade: cast delay has been decreased from 1110ms to 960ms (this just keeps getting faster and faster each revamp, maybe some horizontal distance maybe no?..ok )
-Pirate Style: cast delay has been decreased from 1500ms to 990ms

After all the cast delay decreased skills, some interesting changes were ..

-Fullmetal Jacket: in addition to existing effects Fullmetal Jacket now increases your damage by 20%
-Octo Quarterdeck : damage has been increased from 140% to 300%
-Captain Dignity : in addition to existing effects Captain Dignity now increases your attack by 30
-Unwearying Nectar(whalers potion): this skill can no longer be debuffed
-Head Shot: damage has been decreased from 500% to 475%, number of hits has been increased from 8 to 9, cast delay has been decreased from 1050ms to 870ms
-Battleship Nautilus: damage has been increased from 520% to 1020%, cast delay has been decreased from 3420ms to 1020ms, this skill no longer activates Damage Reflect, this skill now decreases Summon Crew and Lucky Dice's cooldowns by 50%% when used, now while this skill is on cooldown Captain Dignity's damage will be increased by 30% (this is what I find VERY interesting)

How do you guys feel about this reboot .. sort of

The overall dpm boost I think is significant enough to put us middle of the pack instead of towards the bottom

can RF not be our bossing move. it's so ugly and boring to use. at least wind archers can wind walk and it makes it somewhat bearable :l

They're in no doubt a positive change, however there are some clear cut things that are not being looked upon such as the usefulness of crew and quick draw.

I can't figure out if these changes are reflected positively or negatively. Is it 'bad' overall? (Everything's been bad since they took away the ship tbh).

I think you guys deserve to have dice removed and just make it a choose-able skill.

I usually dont complain about sairs (except for octo being only 30 sec and not letting us choose what crew members to summon) I think these changes sucks, except the Nautilius change (because that way we dont have to keep spamming one skill) why it sucks? We dont need more damage boosts. we're strong as it is. What we need is more damage LINES. We're in the bottom of the dpm list because most jobs has a lot of damage lines while we only have one line on rf. I would love a change like cut rf's damage to 150% and make it into two lines. The cast delays decreases apply to all jobs so its pretty boring.

My biggest issue with current corsair is the rng associated with summon crew.

Very welcome change.

Oh and the 20% damage and 30 attack. That's also freaking great

Im happy to see we will get buffed a little in the future but this doesnt really resolve our problem of having too much attack skills on the fourth job.

Cast delays yay! Now buffing won't be painstaking long in boss maps
I really like the Naut Strike Changes thank god for them

These are awesome changes. I especially like the Nautilus Strike change - going from a completely useless move to a really nice utility move. The damage buff to Octo-Cannon was long overdue as well.

I'd like to see something to make Broadside more useful and Quickdraw less annoying to use, but otherwise I'm very happy with these updates. Almost makes me want to start playing again.

First of all, this isn't a reboot.
Second of all, unless they allow summons to Crit and/or make them hit similar damage to us, they're poopy.
Nautilus change is cool, I guess. You gotta think about using it though, since you wanna have good dice but might wanna save the CD reduction. I don't see why they didn't just cut Dice and All Aboard's CD in half.
ELE is fast enough as is. Not complaining about a bit more speed, though.
Faster HS is nice too, I guess.
MP's buffs are nice as well.

Now they have to do something with QD, making it easier to activate without screwing up the timing of HS, and give us an Arrow Blaster-esque Broadside that we can set up.
Then I'd be a happy little Pirate.
