Goodbye, old friend
So, yesterday, I was stuck by a tragedy... I lost an old friend who had been with me for years of my Maple career... taken from me in an instant...
...
...
...I accidentally blew up my lv 120 Lunchbox (119 atk + 10atk potential, 5 STR)!
My heart stopped momentarily as the item was destroyed. I was using a scroll with an 80% success rate. I could not believe it. Just my luck that it happened. I'm not mad per se... just saddened by the tragic event.
For those who don't know, the Lunchbox weapon was a one-time, untradable 1-handed sword that could be obtained during a back to school event YEARS ago (in the first few of years Maple was around). In order to get the item, you needed to log on every single day, collect items (roughly 7 or so) given to you by the Maple GM NPC, pass them onto Cody (who was relatively new at the time) and redo this every day for 1-2 weeks (can't remember how much). One day missed, no box for you (think about that when you complain about Nexon being strict about attendance events). When you completed the event, you were allowed to choose the level of the Lunchbox you recieved, level 120 being the highest.
Out of all the 1-handed swords in the game, the Lunchbox is legendary. Unlike most 1-handed swords, the Lunchbox weapons were 1 speed level higher, fast(4) instead of the usual fast(5). Coupled with Booster, this sword would reach the maximum possible attack speed. The next highest level sword that could boast this feat is the Red Katana. Whereas the Stonetooth Sword can match the speed of a 1-handed sword, the Lunchbox was untouchable. The Stonetooth of the 1-handed swords.
Untradable, only given out once ever, it was my crown jewel. Sadly, that day is gone now.
At least I have a Lionheart Cutlass to replace it. Still, some weapons you never forget...
Goodbye, old friend.

RIP another lunchbox user
I never risked anything on my 120 lunchbox and I never would, it was one of the few reasons I'm still playing this game. I'm hoping to perfect it one day with the highest att scrolls possible.
ur fault for risking it.
shouldn't have risked it if you treasured it so much.
Haha I remember that event, sadly mine glitched up or something o_o it wouldn't let me turn it in the last day or something, I was pretty upset but seeing that it was on my CB it wouldn't have had gotten much use
we so solle!

Ouch
As someone who never has, and never will, own one of those glorious swords, I could only imagine how that feels. My heart goes out for you.
It's not tradable... It's eating my DrK inventory space
Sorry for your loss.
Rare, rare... pshhh
And? Its a 129 atk crap weapon. Noone use a low lvl, low atk weapon.
A person like you would never understand.
Go back to living under that rock like Patrick Star.
OMG bby gurl im sorry for your loss
R.I.P. Lunchbox. We will never forget.
Good job. You blew a friend up with a 20% chance. Some friend you are.
Now i want to get an anvil of this lunch box
feelin pretty sad for you tbh no troll O_O
@3moRaccoon: WHATEVER don't be like that, you get my point!
Wow... I'm kind of touched with the fact that, not only is this thread going, but how many people are acting with such kindness.
As for the offers of lunchboxes, I'm fairly certain that they never made the weapon tradable with SoKs... but I did actually have a Lionheart Battle Scimitar as a backup (surprisingly not all that more powerful than the box). If, however, it's somehow SoK-able (or PSoK-able), I'll consider it. I'm not the most funded guy out there, so I doubt I'd be able to afford it ^-^'''
Anyways, thanks again, everyone.
Oh, and to the guy saying how the Lunchbox is a "crap weapon", if you read what I had said about the Lunchbox before, it may not have the raw physical power of swords above level 140 (though it came out LONG before those ones), it made up for it for being 1 level faster than ever other sword above it, making it's overall DPM rather considerable. A lot of people back in the day attempted to super-scroll Red Katanas in order to get similar results as it was the next strongest weapon with that attack speed. Admittedly, mine wasn't scrolled all that well (5 60%s and a potential scroll revealed on it), but there are a few out there who scrolled theirs out far better (one I saw for 15x atk)... and this was before potentials and so-on. A sword like that even today can hold it's own against any other sword in the game.
Also, since I already could 1 shot what I was training on, it's not like I needed much more.
my condolences to the family of this poor lunchbox
I'm sorry for your loss..
Im sorry for your loss. I still have mine (lv120 clean) and the effect from the ITCG event (the one that says I do 9'999dmg, lol)
Still have mine, but also level 60 because I was a huge noob back then. They are some of my favourite pixels.
I have one too, level 60, cause I only quested...OHh I miss the baby, still have it.
@SilverFoxR
i can get you one anvilled if you want it done at some point in time.
lemme know.
Steve!
Sadly, anvils ruin the aesthetic rareness of it. I still have my level 60 version on my BM and I consider it one of my favorite items on my account. My condolences.
Wow, that's really sad. The only reason I remember those items is because yours became so famous. Sorry for your loss.
@SilverFoxR
i can get you one anvilled if you want it done at some point in time.
And yet you have no idea how rare it is.
Edit: I can anvil it if you want. o-o
i'm sorry for ur loss..i hope it's at a better place now rip
Why on Earth would you have even risked a 1% on a lunchbox?
:c
Rare, rare... pshhh
And? Its a 129 atk crap weapon. Noone use a low lvl, low atk weapon.
Some people value the weapon for its uniqueness
You should have taken note of the 20% failure rate! Never risk anything for something so precious!
And at first I thought you meant an actual person not a weapon
Well the 2 star EE only has a 10% chance of destroying. 20% chance of failing but a 50% chance of destroying if it fails, equating to a 10% total chance of destroying
u should have had anviled it at least when u had the chance to... at least u would have had some memories with it
Yeah, i feel you.
just sitting there in shock like
did that just happen
why me lord
You should have taken note of the 20% failure rate! Never risk anything for something so precious!
And at first I thought you meant an actual person not a weapon
Moral of the story: never use a scroll with a boom chance on something that you're not willing to lose.
I remember that was back when Heroes actually used 1h swords lol.
Let's hope for a rollback? :'(
What a drama... for a 129 atk crap weapon...
And yet you have no idea how rare it is.
Thanks, everyone for the condolences.
I'm off to bed for now. Good luck and good hunting, everyone.
LOL sorry I guess?
@Solar Its what made VarsityHero the most famous Hero preBB
Could have had used a protection scroll.
I remember when you made the Lunch Box .
VarsityHero had a pretty good one too if I remember correctly.
A very sad day indeed my good sir...
sry about that but i respect u for risking the 80% cause with a chance to destroy i wouldnt dare to do it even at 99% success rate
That honestly sucks poo
I'm sorry for your loss
