Should I restart Fire Emblem Awaking?
I'm at chapter 18, but I think I might have to start over again.
The first reason is because I already lost Sumia, Vaike, Donnel, and Cordelia on Classic mode.
The second reason is because I didn't know that the characters you ship would affect their offsprings possible classes and stats so since I shipped them by preference, I have random mixes.

Is this your first run? I would just finish and play a new round on a different mode (if you want)
n yeah i random paired ppl my first go too then i found some stuff to plan the children hehehe
regardless the children are still gonna be op after they get trained
Donnel is an awesome father
if you're not in lunatic it doesn't really matter, just do whatever you want in your first playthrough
with enough power of will you can ship by preference and still breeze(kind of) through the game
I would definitely continue playing just to get a raw experience, unaffected by optimization guides and w/e.
Might as well just enjoy it all the way through.
After you've finished it, start a fresh.
Cordelia gives you one of the best daughters so I would say yes.
It's your choice though.

Its up to you. Your going to the play game again though. My first playthrough, the offspring came as a surprise so my children were okish. The second time around, my game consisted of godly powerful children.
Finish that and then restart, maybe on a higher difficulty level if you want to change things up a bit. It's fun to start again and try new things
I wouldn't start over unless those people you mentioned were your like top people. I mean it's not that hard in this game to raise people. Excluding Hard modes and up.
You should also restart battles if you lose an important character not continue on.
