Shade/Eunwols storyline Maple /stories/ in general
[Potential spoiler for anyone who actually cares] (Props to you if you can actually sit through and read this incredibly illiterate and badly thought out post, my mind is in the guter right now) (Will probably waste like 5ish minutes of your life, read at your own risk)
Soo Im like almost through with Shade/Eunwol's storyline atm and am in a cluster fuar of rage and other emotions and stuff. Venting.
Hollllllll fuarrrr Shade's storyline is depressing.
GOD DAMN EUNWOL'S STORYLINE IS DEPRESSING.
THE CHARACTER HIMSELF ALREADY LOOKED DEPRESSING AS IT IS AND THEN YOU PLAY HIS STORY AND THEN BOOM, I PRESENT TO YOU THE BIGGEST DOWNER OF MAPLESTORY.
THE LAST TIME THERE WAS A STORY THIS DEPRESSING IN MAPLE WAS, I DUNNO, XENON? VON LEON?
Seriously, no one in his world remembers him /at all/? I used to think Maple was family friendly, right now this is suicide watch 101.
Sure there are some nice stories that are fun and light hearted (which by the way is what I assume Maple should be about, atleast the story half of it)
The explorer storylines- you go an adventure to better yourself, save Maple island, explore and shie. It's all about venturing yo.
Evan- you grow more familiar with your DRAGON and DID I MENTION YOU GET A DRAGON well the dragon probably isnt the most well thought out and the class is kind of lame BUT YOU GROW WITH YOUR DRAGON AND STUFF, THERE IS GROWTH, THAT MAKES IT OK.
Aran (I never fully compelted the story butttt)- you save people/the world and go on a soul searching journey to find your memories with subtle, interlinking tid bits here and there which makes it amusing. Its like playing detective, it's fun.
Phantom- This guy is a frggn JOKER, he is amusing which overall makes his story fun.
Luminous- the battle within ones self blah blah blah
ETC ETC.
BUT THEN SUDDENLY YOU GOT THIS DEPRESSING AS STORY WITH EUNWOL, WHERE HE VIRTUALLY DOES NOT EXIST AND IS FOREVER ALONE. EVERYTHING HE CARED FOR DOES NO CARE FOR HIM. HIS ONLY HOPE OF SALVATION TURNED AGAINST HIM. AND THEN THERE'S THE MOONBEAM BIT THAT I DONT EVEN WANA GET STARTED ON.
Man i thought Xenon was depressing af where he sort of realizes he will never get his memories/(some of)emotions back AND THEN WANTED TO SAVE BERYL BUT DO WE EVER FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT? NOPE.
The worst part is almost NONE of these stories get any form of a conclusion, they just sort of get this open-ended... one quest thing that doesnt answer nor present any possibility for the future.
How many of you guys actually read the story ._. the story is amazing.
Also Eunwol's quests are kind of buggy atm, the level 75 quest doesnt work. And also sometimes when I use blade imp the monster drops through the floor of the map and kind of... disappears.
New ms waifu Moonbeam (what kind of name is Moonbeam but w.e she touches peoples feels n shie so it's ok).
And also: Generic storyline vent thread if anyone wants.
TL;DR- Maplestory stories are like the epitome of a stockholm syndrome. It like abuses the shie out of your feels but you keep going back to it. Masochism? No actually what is the word.

One person can't handle a massive amount of S*** by him/herself. Why aren't the Maple Gods meting out bad luck/misfortune equally to the rest of the heroes? They aren't really bothered about themselves being forgotten by Maple World, Shade on the other hand,... They're making him into a suicidal and depressed teenager with nothing to hang onto. Speaking of cheeriness, they should make Angelic Buster's story a little less... pink. They should make the Shade/EunWol storyline a bittersweet one.
There is a loophole in the storyline. Why did they say that Shade/EunWol was totally forgotten by everyone, and that no trace of him was left anywhere? If he still exists in person, then why is that so? They henceforth should change the ending, so that it's a more enjoyable storyline that doesn't make the viewers TOO depressed. It can't be totally depressing throughout, right? Since everyone has to find some kind of happiness in life.
Shade/EunWol was indeed the sacrifice of the time capsule, to save the world, blah blah blah. But why is it that he was 'wiped off from existence'? (quoting maplestory.wikia.com) Isn't HE HIMSELF the time capsule? Shouldn't some kind of essence or spiritual form of his existence be present in the time capsule? Or his power. Soul. Whatever.
My desired ending of this particular storyline:
Shade/EunWol goes to the Lion King Castle, finds out that power/soul/thingy that pertains to him is still present in the capsule. He activates the thingy by touching it. After a massive explosion of light (since Lumi used his light ability), he finds that he has regained all this power back (this can be used as 4th job). The other five heroes are teleported to the Castle, all of which have regained their memories. They give Shade/EunWol a Hero's Welcome.(Hence changing the medal upon 4th job to 'A Remembered Hero' instead of 'A Forgotten Hero') They also apologize for their previous hostile behavior.
With the powers restored, the missing gap in the history books about the heroes is restored, they proceed to defeat the Black Mage once and for all. They find a way to awaken the Black Mage, who's powers are nerfed, and kill him easily.
Nice ending.
What's your views on my suggested ending? And what do you think is a good ending?
I COMPLETELY AGREE. THE STORIES IN MAPLESTORY ARE GREAT IF YOU ACTUALLY GO THROUGH THEM. (DUH, MAPLESTORY HAS 'STORY' IN IT FOR A REASON! )
I haven't really played through Shade, but I'm around Lv 60 and it's rather depressing ;;
SO FAR, THE STORYLINES THAT HAVE GIVEN ME FEELS ARE: XENON AND BLACK HEAVEN, REGARDING LOTUS AND ORCHID. MAN.
Kaiser's storyline with Velderoth was kinda sad too- too bad they always leave them unfinished.

Yup, Eunwol's storyline is really sad. Phantom, demon and xenon hit really hard too. Hope my da finally meets Damien face to face in 5th job quests.
Edit: Felt really bad for Benedict in Zero's storyline whe his brother 'died.' Still feeling sad about it...

When you hit 200 as Angelic Buster, the dragon reveals the magic girl transformation was never really necessary in the first place. He could have given her the same powers in her base form, but then he wouldn't get to see her run around in a suggestive outfit.

Oh yeah, I made a post regarding Commerci before. The storyline ended soo very abruptly? We were told there was a continuation but nothing ever surfaced, it literally had no ending ._.
Commerci is pretty funny with the Mayor's son falling in love with that girl but she has like 0 interest in him lol.
BUT THE QUEST LINE JUST ENDED LIKE WTF? THAT'S IT? I dunno if it's my level (I'm level 165) and there are more but idk.... the quests just stopped coming with no conclusion

The Blackwings went around actively sealing mentions of the 5 heroes/blackmage etc soo it makes sense BUT MAN COULDNT THEY ATLEAST LEAVE MOONBEAM FOR SHADE.

All of the stories in Maple be it class/job stories or questline stories were engaging. Nexon both betrayed yet expanded on their commitment (does that even make sense I cant brain right now) to the story aspects of Maple. They introduced alot of new, highly engaging stories. They completed almost /none/ of them.
Shade is a frggn badass (but a really boring class to play).
A martyr and a fool (and depressing) but a badass none the less.
EDIT: And yes, I also love the Maple history.
I can only pray to the gods old and new that all of these stories get a continuation as Maple progresses.
the ending to shade's storyline was terrible
Imagine what will happen though when the black mage is defeated again and we see a continuation of the heroes storylines. I honestly like maple history, it's one of those that at least gives me a good read outside of books.
Everyone doesn't need a happy ending.
I wasn't really that surprised at the ending tbh it just made Shade seem more edgy.
Yeah, Well nobody seems to recall what the lumi did either, I thought grendel with his supposed infinite wisdom would recognise the guy who pratically halved the black mages power but nope!
Plus Explorers are random nobodys that npc's either barely glance at or flat out insult at times, No sub plot needed to be ignored.
Aran is the story of a guy (or Girl?) with amnesia being rudely awakened and instantly being expected to save the world, While his weapon screams at him for not paying attention to it after such a long wait.
AB has some really horrible and innapropriate "Jokes" In her storyline, as well as her being outcasted from society because of a birth defect right from the get go until she gets a dragon spirit who is basically a creepy stalker, THEN everybody loves her.
All of my yes. This is exactly how I felt when I read through it. Shade "accepting his fate" out of his original intention of defending the world was such a depressing ending.
