Is it because they have a lot of benefits from buffs that it makes their range unstable or am I even heading in the right direction?

@star909 in a nutshell - given identical %stat/%attack/etc bonuses, Mercedes does not yield anywhere near the damage output of most other classes (for reasons mentioned by @straatlamp). So you'll need to invest more funding to pull those numbers up to par. Hope that helps

This is the best answer I've ever seen to anything.
High %total damage, low weapon multiplier and not the highest %damage on skills makes them expensive to fund.
