Kanna

Any Kanna Tips before I make one?

Backstory!

Ok...so I haven't played MS in about 5 years. Recently came back and tried AB on someone's suggestion and I am liking it. AB's at 101 now. My friend, who rolled a Kaiser, grew bored of his class yesterday and rerolled to Battle Mage. I figured it would be a good time to make a second character for Link Skill and Character Card!

I'm going to make a Kanna, both as a Kinshin mule as well as a class I believe I'm going to enjoy. Reading through the forums it looks like a few things are broken.

That said, any tips? Assume 100% unfunded, my AB has about 8m to her name and no skill books yet. Personally, I find things are more fun when characters are unfunded anyway.

Edit: ...can I even make one right now?
So I just hit 4th job

These will probably be my last few questions, since everything else has been cleared up here or elsewhere.

1. How do you guys set up your skill bars? I'm finding myself with no room going into my 4th job.
2. http://cloud-4.steamusercontent.com/ugc/544147366415351759/4CC0E490D088E3746227A0F4BF97CD977C0B9867/ <- How did this happen?
3. Do I need to keep all those medals I get? Or is there a way to reclaim them?

Kanna's become my main now, and I exp potted a Mercedes to 70 (returning player )

Thoughts!
- Omg Kinshin, people did say this was an EXP boost and I knew that going in but...I didn't think it'd be so useful getting quests done too
- Soul Orbs, so many soul orbs...litter the ground with blood orbs...
- Still super fancy

Thanks again!
Key Config SS: http://imgur.com/LxpqHsk

1. Vanq charm on Space, Potion pot (pots) on X, Shiki Haunting on C, Kish on PgDn, Dash on Home, Tree (sakura) on End, MW on D, radiant peac on autobuff, Teleport on ctrl. Black bind on comma, big foot on pgup.
2. Rip zakum
3. No don't need to keep. I dont think you can reclaim.

@hangwithhung: We are being fixed tomorrow. We also get some compensation which is pretty considerate of them.

1. I believe accuracy is largely calculated by level difference so I don't think the actual accuracy stat would impact as much Probably better to just roll for INT or something.
2. At least just get 1 Kishin, at Lv1 it lasts long enough for you to go do some stuff and just recast. Higher level Kishin just makes it last a little longer and hit a bit harder but the damage isn't particularly noteworthy. And Kanna overall is not a primary damage-dealing class so you could expect that to some extent.
3. Yes, currently it is. You have to get Echo or the WH skill that increases damage to get it temporarily fixed. It's unfortunate. </3
4. Potion Pot is convenient but not really necessary for training. Other than that, aside from 2x coupons, nothing I can really think of.
5. Should be in the beginner tab near the bottom. I think you usually get it upon creation but I could be wrong? Maybe go back and do a bit of the Kanna beginner prequests if you're missing it, not sure why you would.
6. If you really want to spell trace something, yeah, spell trace some fans (you need one for Haku and one for yourself) which will help your range immensely. If you're looking at late-endgame, Fafnir for yourself and SW for Haku is usually suggested, iirc.

Kannas are flashy
Lines aren't as much as a lot of other classes though, especially 1v1 later in the game :C

Made a Kanna yesterday for the link skill. Got to 100 in about 4 hours.

Did curse eyes til level 30
Gold Beach til 45
Drakes til 56
Tauromacis to 60
Jesters to 70
RnJ to 120

1-50 was a bit slow but once I got Kishin at 60 it was just nuts. Was gaining levels every 10 mins.

Thanks everyone ^^

I went from 1-51 on Kanna yesterday, the grinding from 45-50 is really what took so long. Have more questions!

1. Not really Kanna specific. I rolled accuracy +180 on my inner ability (rolled once, and it went to epic), does that help me when I'm trying to hit the higher leveled mobs that make me miss? Drakes being a prime example, since my friend and I are going there when we're 55.
2. Since I'm leveling with a friend, should I switch around 3rd job skill builds so I get Kinshin first (after 1 in most of my other skills)? By the looks of it my friend seriously out-damages me, and is unfunded like I am. I suppose that's normal.
3. Is Haku's Blessing, which add's m.atk broken? :o
4. Any NX purchases that are considered beneficial? I thought about potion pot but that doesn't seem as necessary here as compared to say my AB.
5. Where's Nine-Tailed Fury? I don't recall seeing it in the Beginner Skill Tree :o
6. When should I look at using spell traces? I'm guessing with the upcoming spell fever I should try to get a weapon at least?

On a random note: Kanna's so flashy. And so many lines! <3 Might entice me to switch mains to Kanna.

2 EZ steps:
1) Press your Kishin button.
2) Never AFK, you are now one with maplestory 4 lyfe

Kanna skills seemed to be fixed, and don't buy Mana pots, they're useless (MP=/=Mana).
Otherwise, just have fun with Kanna, I liked the class but I'm too heavily invested in my BM

Well, Kannas level up like crazy... honestly, next to Bishops, they're probably one of the easiest. I've heard of a Kanna getting from 0-100 in an hour and a half, but I know the player was kinda funded. Assuming 100% unfunded, it might take a day or two, since you'll be running around trying to avoid attacks, etc.

The class isn't the same as most other classes. Seeing as you've played AB before, it's probably not going to be the biggest change but as a Kanna you have 4-5 FMA/large AoE attack skills with huge damage per line, but they're slow to cast and the cooldown is hellish in high intensity situations. Instead of a soul battery you have a MANA pool which refills on its own every few seconds (never cared to count). However, you only get 100 MANA and most of your skills will take an upward of 40 or 50 so it's definitely not a class you sit and spam with. The one and only skill you can spam with is your main attack which mobs up to 3 monsters and only does like 2 lines. In that regard it's not the best. However for mobs that you can 2-3 shot (basically everything prior to lv 120), Kanna's map control is amazing. Each of their skills with the exception of the main attack skill and the 4th job 1v1 skill have a huge AoE. You can pull monsters, stun them, and hit them pretty fast. All in all, it's a class which has decent attack power for the funding that you put in, but it's not consistent or constant in the sense that you have to wait for a long time to reactivate those skills.

Mob control during first and second job is easy; it's mostly pulling monsters toward you and blasting them to death with Shikigami Haunting which doesn't take too long. In 3rd job, the job changes very much; your AoE skills attack almost the length of the entire screen if you're in 800 x 600 mode... and you get to increase spawn. How smexii is that? This means soloing these levels will be ridiculously easy if you choose the right maps. And from 100-120, you can just enter an RJPQ and all the trouble you went through from 1-3rd job will finally pay off as you get free leeches :]

However, if you're just doing it for the link skills, I'd say jump on a Demon Avenger. IMO it's easier to get a DA from 0-120 than it is for a Kanna no matter the funding and while DA has a few CD based skills, i does not entirely depend on them, which makes playing the game less frustrating. Plus, DA makes a better solo-bossing character if you're not seriously funded. Kannas can do quite a bit and I honestly prefer bossing on one... except that right now, the glitches have pretty much turned Kanna's 4th job's main 1v1 (Vanquisher's Charm) into nothing more than a fun animation to stare at. I actually like the animation tho

All in all it's not your average hack and slash class. There's a lot of strategic use with cooldowns (I'm just saying that cos I haven't found one and I'm just hoping that there is a strategy with how to use the CD based skills) and it's definitely a more support-oriented class than most classes out there. I mean tbh even Bishops could probably boss and care less about control, given they just spam AR.

@misterluck could u gimmie a link to the revamp? google isn't giving me anything... not even on page 2 D:

You can make them right now.

There are tons of things you should know about kanna but theres a big one, the constant new bugs after patches.
On Exp event occasions, people would sometimes buy kishin services hourly.
They have a different mp bar, labeled MANA, you get 100 and it recovers like 30 every 2 secs or w/e.

Theres also equipping a fan for Haku. If you make him equip a fan, you will receive X% amount of m att from the fan he equips ( Comes from his skill in 2nd and 4th job, Haku Reborn/ Perfected)

Oh right, theres also going to be a upcoming revamp that makes their skills blue?
Emo Haku.
