Why was scrolling removed from reboot?

I see no reason why it makes sense to remove scrolling (keeping spell traces) but leaving the potential system. If everything is meso based, why does it matter?

Personally it feels like it was left out for the sole purpose that reboot would be 100% better than the other servers if it was there.

What are your thoughts?

@chaosh: Spot on, not sure why there is any need to complain about scrolling... server was made for party play and bringing the communities together from different servers. If you're a solo player then reboot isn't for you sadly.

It makes upgrading your equipment early on simpler (you can start using Star Force and the Transfer Hammer from the very beginning) and part of the purpose of Reboot is to be more challenging. Being non-P2W might be what attracted a lot of people at first, but Reboot was designed to be a challenge as well: No trading, no scrolling, no NX, stronger monsters, you have to fight your way to the top with every character you make, although, of course, partying makes life much more easier in the late game.

I suppose the fact Reboot 'advertises' cubing for players who never bought them is a nice bonus, too.

@tysmoosion: nothing. They gave them an NPC price of 5k. So you save them up to simply sell them back.

@minchuzuk3 If it was to be introduced, I assume clean slates could also be sold through NPC at a high price. Keeping up with reboot's grindy nature.

What are spell traces used for now?

Well for starters, it would be really hard to try to scroll a weapon by yourself. Trying to obtain clean slates by yourself would be killer.
