My Band teacher gives me a U unsatisfactory
So today during band class our teacher said we're going to be watching lord of the rings. I honestly watched 15 mins of the first movie and i hated it so me and a couple of friends went into the band storage room and did a little studying. Near the end of the period he eventually found and called us back to his room. He gives all 8 of us U's and ends it there...
Who's at fault on this situation

You are the one who is at fault. It does not look as if you had asked your teacher to leave the room.
It's like going to the bathroom without telling your teacher then coming back at the end of the period. Obviously your teacher would not appreciate that.
It's your fault for hating one of the greatest movies evahhh!
OT: It's a long movie, but epic... Anyways don't get our school started on band teachers. One got charged with salutatory rp (probably will be censored) with an 18 year old girl and another we used to make his life miserable by putting gum in his hair and tacks in his chair, on a normal basis. Even the nerds revolted and did stuff bad to this guy. Your teacher making you watch that movie is not the end of the world so deal with it...

I understand what i did was quite wrong but is it enough to get a U? I've seen others cheat on tests and pull out their phones only to get a "look on your own test" and "put it away". Yes what i did was wrong, but it was not as bad as many other circumstances

and honestly its a band class we should be playing music not watching pointless movies from 5 years ago

he randomly makes us watch movies from like 2005 for no reason at all so i was fed up with it. He doesnt grade us or anything.

he makes us watch lord of the rings for no apparent reason at all so we wanted to make use of our time and study. Is that so wrong?

Honestly, it was your fault for going back there without permission.
However, he shouldn't have been so strict and give you a unsatisfactory(unless you guys did other things.)
