Ideas for a better maple

Well its been almost 2 years since ive played maplestory and i have finally come back (as everyone always does lol) and i just wanted to share some things that i was disappointed that havnt been changed/fixed yet, this list is 100% totally just my opinion and you may think i am completely wrong, in which case i would request u share what u think needs to be fixed/changed also, anyways lets continue

-First off! I am happy that nlc has finaly been fixed after the alien invasion and is now back to the old NLC we all love (or at least i do), my only complaint is that now nlc is just another map that almost no one goes to without a reason, the quests are old and don't give good exp or items anymore, i think that NLC should be brought back to its original glory (since it was a GMS exclusive at one time), i think the quests should be buffed, the rewards should be unique rather then just potions or items no one will use.
NLC was always one of my fav places to explore what with all the secret teleport and mysterious rooms with random things that serve no purpose but make you wonder and i think they should add onto that, make the big bean stock thing in the NLC jungle lead to a floating jungle or something interesting but at the same time keep the good quest line and the great story's that NLC always has had and has always made me want to read there quests over and over.

-Second! One thing i am very sad that they haven't changed yet is that each char doesn't have there own link skill (and the link skill system all together), i don't think it would be very difficult to add a link skill to each of the old classes (explorer's, Evan, things like that) that, while not being extremely powerful can still be used to help chars out, for an example something as simple as lets say a (base) 5% chance to heal 20% of HP when attacking (bishop), or a possibility to set mobs on fire/ freeze them temp for fire and ice mages respectively, knock-back increase with bowman's or a rage buff from warriors (like the one Angelic Burster gives), Small little things like that i think would make the chars more interesting while also giving your other chars a small boost.
While we are on the topic of link skills i think it should also be mentioned that i think the entire link skill system should be over hailed, no more max of 12 link skills per char and each link skill can only use used once per char per 24 hours, i think that entire thing is stupid and should be replaced with the links skills all being on every char but only being able to chose lets say 16 (since there are 32 slots per server and well over that many classes now, including sub classes), for example i think it should be changed from the current link skill page where it shows you the active ones to a page where it shows you all your skills and you can highlight the 16 you wish to activate at a time, i do think there should be a 24 hour cool down between swapping them so you don't just swap them as the situation calls for it.

Third! Something i am very happy with that maple has changed in the last 2 years (i don't when) is how they are handling new quests, i enjoy the almost movie like experience cut scenes of the new black haven quests and the dialog is also enjoyable, But i do think they should change that for, maybe not all but for most of the area specific quests, like make an entire quest line in orbis about how the black wings are trying to destroy orbis tower, or turn NLC into a store about exploration and discovery, little things like that i think would make more people read the text of the quests rather then just mashing Enter then pressing "yes" and wondering.... what was i supposed to do exactly?......

Forth! This one kinda ties the first thing about NLC, i am sad that NLC doesn't have there own unique classes yet, i think Jett could have been a great start to that series back in the day when it came out but since they didnt to that i think they should get there own. NLC has always been full of unique chars from the beginning of being implemented, i dont think it would have to be an extremely serious class with a dark past or anything like demon slayer or Xenon, if they where to have one char from each sub area of NLC like lets say Stirgman for the warrior class, Corine for the bowman class (and move her to that floating forest island we talked about, make that place into like a Taru spirit haven), Taggrin, Juko, and Fiona (the bandit like chars in the phantom forest) have them split the training for a thief class, Turn that Alien guy into a Mage class and move him into the weird looking alien ship thing in the NLC Jungle, and last for the Pirate class i think John Barricade inside Bigger Ben could train in the ways of the whip (not whip blade like Xenon), of course any and all of these could very easy be traded out with other NPC's or things but that's just a quick idea of the possibility's, as i said NLC has so many unique areas and NPC's that i think its a wasted potential not to use them for something like that.

Fifth! If there has been one thing that (i think) maplestory has done wrong it is that they don't have any pre-requisite chars in the game, they used to have the Ultimate Adventurer back in the day but that was removed a long time ago, i used to LOVE thoughs chars as they showed an accomplishment, im not saying make another Ultimate adventurer, that one has already been done, but i do think they should add more chars that have pre-requisite's such as lets give an example, lets say your current char is a good old Ice Mage and there is a long quest-line at lvl 200 that lets you go into another dimension that has your same char in it, but at lvl 1 but is a new version of an Ice Mage, or is even just a universal Mage with all news skills and new quest lines but you cant bring this new mage back into the Mapleworld until you get it to lvl 100 or something, i think the new upgraded mage should replace the lvl 200 mage, but keep all its current items and slots and everything but make all the items it had when transferred over to the new mage untradable until it goes back to the maple world at lvl 100 or what ever, this new mage could be something more then what the old Ultimate Adventurer's where with just there 1 new skill and a few good items, i think this new mage should be basically a new unlockable class that you have to sacrifice your old mage for to unlock, i think it should have an entirely new skill set and new quest lines and wep's but it would be like your char still has there old memory from when it was a lvl 200, i think that could make for some interesting quest dialog.

Last but not least! i think maplestory should finish off the classes that haven't been finished off yet, or at least add a prelude to other classes, classes like the Beast tamer, where its own separate entity and its char card cant be used to combine with anything should be added, maybe not all 5 main classes but like adding 3 at least because i mean it has its own separate world for just one char? that seems like wasted potential again, or the child of light class, i think they should add the other 2 god's/goddess classes, lets recap: we have Zero the transcendence of time made from Rhinne, we have Cygnus the Transcendence of Life (previously was World Tree), Cygnus could have a direct descendant that is playable or even make her as her pre-transcendence self playable to see her story in greater detail, and we have the transcendence of light, the black mage, Im not really sure how this one could be done as the black mage wont have a new transcendent till he dies and is reincarnated back into the light, i dont think it would be as simple as "make him playable when he was the white mage" even if that would be an interesting story if they worked it like they did with Zero, so yeah im not sure how that would could played worked but i still think its a possibility.

So yeah i know this list is long but i was bored and wanted to write something, i apologize about my lack of grammar skills but oh well, nothing i can do about it As i said before i would LOVE to hear what you guys think needs to be changed or updated in the game to give it back some of its old glory! (Side note: i also think they should finish the Knights of Cygnus chars EX Mihile)

@ashleyattacked i agree that it is over powered, but i see it more of a reward system for dedication for a character, i do think that a boost like u mentioned is pretty big for only lvl 120, i think maybe they should rebalanced so its say, every 50 lvls, so 50-100-150 kinda thing, atleast it would be a little more of a challenge to get them, but i still think the chars should gain something for showing dedication to a char, atleast thats what i think (but then again i already have like 30 chars lvl 100+ so i might be biased lol)

Regarding every skill having a link skill...it might be easy to do...but it's actually almost getting to where it's a game breaking thing. You can get such a huge boost now that a lot of crap is meaningless or at least the desire is way lessened.

For example...having a demon avengera, a demon slayer, beast tamer and a kanna, all to lvl 120, will give you a combined total of 42% total dmg. That's insane.
Luminous lvl 120 = 15% pdr.
Phantom lvl 120 = 15% crit
Beast Tamer lvl 120 = 7% crit / 7% boss dmg
Xenon lvl 120 = 10% all stat

Then on top of all that you get some truly huge boosts from the Character Cards, etc.

I think that's why....

@Penguinator004 you are corrrect, atm there are not many people playing (or any) because the servers are down, but in the entire maple comunity? yes there are thousands, and as for my character as you would be able to see if u looked closely i have a rudoulph nose, meaning that pic hasnt been updated since christmas of last year (when i logged in last before this week)

@Cabroon thanks for thinking i had some good idea's , i agree that they should make new items but i wouldnt say exactly make them "godly" i think the game needs more simple items that the Necro set, just something for the people who cant afford the entire empress set or sweet water or something, just so chars can look good (am i the only one who cars about chars looks lol?)

@deeemon Adventurers do have the blessing of the fairy and cygnus do have empress blessing, but cygnus still have a link skill (even if its crap), i think the link skills in general should be a multi char thing but i do think there needs to be a cap even if 12 is to low, i still think 16 would be a good number but maybe 20, we have to keep in mind that we can only have 32 chars per account (which is alot for some and to little for other like me), also i agree that storage should be increased but thats a loss of sales if they where to do that so i cant see that happening
For adding new chars i agree about Ayame, but that isnt even a playable char in jms, its just a char you transform into when you do a party quest, just like how we have it (correct me if im wrong). I think the idea of dmg skins is an amazing Idea, even if its an event item or cs item, something like the old efrit or how the old attacks where done back in the day, i think thats a great idea and ill def add that onto my next list i make.

@penguinator004 says the one still keeping tabs on maplestory, and who says i dont play minecraft "like a normal person"? I think the thousands of people that play maplestory and there revenue would argue with the fact that the "game is dead"

Adventurers sort of has something like a link skill, Blessing of the Fairy. And to fix link skills, there shouldn't be a cap or limit of 12, all link skills should act passively across all characters like Blessing of the Fairy or like the Character Card thing. This link skill "manager" is garbage, it needs to be removed. They still haven't made a level 2 Keen Edge for Hayato yet. And maybe they should remove Empress's Blessing from the Cygnus Knights just so Adventurers can have something unique to them, or just make both stack, that would be better.
Storage, it should have more space, like 300 slots. Because that's what it is, just a storage to hold all your junk. Where's Merlinus when you need him.
Quests, they should add some quests that reward old skills like Band of Thieves and any other skills that's been deleted. They can't just delete our greatest memories like that, dood.
Untradable equips, all your own stuff should be tradable within the account. You shouldn't have to pay extra just to move something to another character. Frig those Sharing Tags.
Character slot limit should go up to 40 by now. There's like 4 extra spaces on the 5th page of the character selection screen, just add more slots, dood.
I'd love to play as Ayame, jMS has the best classes, dood.
Skill animation skins, wouldn't it be great to see previous versions of your favorite skills? I'd love to see the old Boomerang Step again, it was much more cleaner, it also matched well with Assaulter, seeing all those small leaves being cut in half. Nexon's actually changing some skills back to their previous animations, like Combo Attack(?) and Quad Star. Other skills I can think of: Flash Jump, Assassinate, Savage Blow, Paralyze, Dark Genesis, Jett's Rapid Fire, Paladin's elemental blow/charges/whatever it is, and more.

well i read the entire text and lemme say bro, these re pretty good ideas. Instead of putting new dmg caps and godly items, nexon should care more in potential good areas/quests/pqs to make them interesting, with good rewards ass well so ppl start to actually enjoy doing storylines for chars/areas (such as nlc,which i would love a revamp for).

@uwotm9 hmm that would be interesting but i dont think itll ever happen, maybe something like if u use there card you get 10% extra NX or something, but i cant see nx = real money anytime soon, even as a bonus,

@jaredragonx9 i think if they where to add the aliens again i think it should be in another section of the map rather then taking over then entire NLC, i personaly hated that as i love the current NLC and connected areas, im not sure what DHS stands for but im pretty sure we have hall of honor still in the game? unless hoh means something else, as for the PQ's i dont think they should add more pq's but just make the current ones more intersting, and for the quests like you where saying, i think they should do what i said and make it into more of a cinematic experience like they have the new quests done, and the rewards dont need to be better i dont think, just more unique, potions for a reward is pretty crappy
