Greetings BasilMarket, Should I make a guild in Scania?
[b][header]Should I make a guild in Scania for newcomers/returning Maplers?[/b][/header]
Hey guys,
I was wondering if I should start a guild in Scania for returning/new Maplers to have a place to call home. However, I will require some assistance as I don't plan on leaving my current guild on my main to start this one as they are like a family to me and I wish to start one for others. If I was going to this, I was going to lead it on my secondary main and need assistance from other people in doing so. I would like to provide a friendly community where people can help each other out. Only rules I have laid out are:
-1.) Fairly active, don't plan on having other people's mules unless you're in the process of switching mains.
-2.) No trolls, but hey we can still have fun. [b]Refrain from causing and/or causing drama.[/b]
-3.) A helpful and supportive community.
-4.) Begging and scamming will not be tolerated.
-5.) Level would not be a requirement, but if you wanted to do anything in-game you'd have to work for it.
-6.) Not take advantage of exploits if possible because this is tempting for most.
-7.) Most other things should be self-explanatory
I haven't really thought of anything else past this point and I have not decided if I wanted to fall through on this idea or not but I do plan on helping the lower level/struggling community because I know people will be looking for friends. For the most part, general contact for me will be via basil inbox if anyone wanted to join.

I'd be willing to join on some of my other chars (can't on main...I'm in the same alliance as you.)
I'd definitely be willing to help others out even if it means soloing bosses for them that they can't alone, etc. Within reason, I guess.

I started out in Scania to try it out, but i had no friends, the people i did add just idle. I think this would be a great idea considering i just like talking to people. My only worry is most people just ignore you and don't talk so i hope your guild doesn't turn into an FM asking for P/C or methods.

I'm so down for this just let me know if u decide on doing it and I'll join definitely. I think it would be a good idea and could be helpful even if just usd as a kickstart guild

How are you going to advertise the guild so people know? Also, some people might just play for a bit and they are not active players, so the guild may slowly die. They also need to bond and find their own circle of friend, so as a guild leader you need to invest a lot of time and energy to allow new people to actually fit in. Since you have an active main, wouldn't it be really hard to maintain another guild?
It sounds good but it is a bit hard to execute.

I'd definitely like to see this happen. Considering how much you're always helping people on basil, a guild where everyone can also help eachother would be really beneficial to players trying to get more into the game.
Sir I kept on visiting basil daily and even posting threads to test my luck on finding a decent guild for me to fit in since I just came back to MS and my former guild died. It's getting really lonely without a family to hangout with during dead hours, Was wondering if this idea of yours was successful? If So, may I know what requirements needed (If there is) in able to join? And what's the guild name? Thanks~

Sure, it could direct them in the right way! Just don't be like me and give newcomers random good equips that are scrolled and stared and stuff I accidentally made a guy go through the game kinda fast should of started him slow like 2009 beginner training kinda slow...

OT: I feel like that's an awesome idea. You seem to be one of the helpful folk here on Basil, and Scania will be the server most newcomers to the game choose due to it being first on the list/biggest population and what not, im sure there will be a lot of help and questions from people! I myself started a guild up in Bera and it has become very successful, and we have helped out multiple newcomers to MS Hope everything goes well for you.

I'm not going to say that it's a bad idea, I just believe that people will do as they please in the game. What I mean by this is that, well, if I were one of those maplers that had no friends on my BL, I'd go ahead and try to make friends. If I wanted a guild, I'd probably join a big one and instantaneously make a huge number of friends just by joining. Catching my drift?
Yeah, there are people who don't find much enjoyment in the game, but that really comes down to the fact that [b]they choose not to,[/b] or cba to actually make the game enjoyable.
Of course, starting a new guild and adding new people might be cool and all, but right now, I don't believe that it is even remotely possible. As another basiler said above, most new guilds just die out in a few weeks, or has like 5 people that AFK at all times.
Despite my negativity towards your new guild, I feel that it's nice to know that there are still people like you who care about the minority. And hey, maybe you'll help someone out in the process!

I actually think you should do it. I joined my guild off of an basil post and I actually started to play maple more and its like a family to me now. Dude, do it for sure. Don't even listen to other people saying guilds die too fast. If it really wasnt for my guildies, i would not have sdh parties, some meso when i needed to buy something but was short a few, and im thankful for that. Even if it does die in the future, than you helped someone out at least. Do it for the people.

@HappyTraderr, This is just an attempt, I am in no crazy need to rush anything. This will be a small community, nothing big, hopefully to stay away from drama.

@Omniscient1, I have no plan to make this a big guild. This will be for support for new/returning players, this is pretty much a limbo for them to get back on their feet, I have no intention of forcing anyone to stay if they don't wish to. But if people decide to stay, that would be a nice thing to do.
guilds die way too fast in this game. This whole "new era" type of guilds been done before and are dead now. Best to just join an already active guild or a guild with close friends only. Starting new guilds to try to be the "best" or "well known" or to help other new players out won't work anymore. MS population is very low populations as is.
I don't even see a point in having a guild anymore, really. Just another group to socialize with and utilize guild skills. l0l

It's possible depending on what people you add, nonetheless guilds that are start-up and invites just random noobs and those start guilds in Renegades always fail because the new players are not deeply invested in the game enough to make a good guild. It will all depend on who you're going to be inviting and what other players have your back.
