Ocd ruining my life

I just wanted to open out to others that have ocd whether its mild or severe, or anybody really. How do you guys deal with it? The way it just controls your mind and the urges you to redeem yourself. I feel like having this is somewhat controlling my life, along with anxiety. On a daily basis, I would have to over excessive urges on general things (Yes even when im typing this out lol). I just want to see different perspectives on others that have OCD. To people that don't know what ocd is: it's basically a urge in your mind that encourages you to do a certain task to make yourself feel complete/redeemed. Hard to just ignore as it is an urge that will escalate heavier. How do you guys feel about it?

@MangoCoffee Thanks for the advice, i'll try to consider it, there was actually a time when i tried to not submit, it eventually inflated like a huge balloon and just burst'd, I submitted.
Thanks for the 2nd advice, i think that is actually a very great solution that i can implement
@MangoCoffee it's just extremely hard to deny, unfortunately
Of course it's hard to deny. But you just really have to NOT submit. Trust me, my OCD is almost as severe as yours. Just go a day without doing anything OCD forces you to do. It will be extremely hard, but the plain extremity will just collapse under its own weight and you'll feel much better. Or start getting in the mindset of being punished for doing the OCD task instead of not doing it.

Like for example, instead of "I have to do this or else" think to yourself repeatedly "I have to NOT do this or else".
Also happens when I'm roleplaying, writing stories/essays/poems/etc, doing things in Maple (ie: setting up a store with items in descending order in terms of price or type of item), cleaning things thoroughly. Heck, even typing this post. o.o

And yes, I have felt those things you have mentioned. Sometimes I have to tell myself, "whatever this'll do" to stop myself. But yea.. this drives me nuts.
It's hard for me to just ignore it, because it repeats the same state of " I have to do this or else " If you know what i mean, in a continuous cycle, drives me crazy!

I always have this problem when I have my backpack going on trips to other countries. I always check to see if my wallet is in there, and 10 seconds later I would check even though I know its still there.

@partyanimal I don't consider myself too severe, but the other cases are still ocd just .. different case. harder to explain if you don't have ocd, but they are talking about doing the task, and rechecking even knowingly it's been locked, but because of this ocd mindset, it's an urge they have to fulfil before they are satisfied, complete. But yes it's stilla form of ocd, i've been through it before

I like to keep this orderly, such as frames not tilted, paper not wrinked, etc.
I also do weird repetitive things: adjusting my computer monitor many times until its perfect, opening and closing drawers multiple times, opening and closing bottles many times after i drink from them, etc. It's annoying.
@Ryukara Yeah, it takes up a huge amount of my time such as homework and i sometimes feel like i'm never normal that i have to extend this far in terms of just getting things done. Definitely a thumbs down for me I don't know if this is the only situation you happen to have? Do you ever feel like "I have to do this, or else ...." i'd be punished, grounded, killed, whatever the reason

this thread is full of misconceptions. Cracking your neck while having a mousepad in a specific position is the only legit thing Ive read so far.
@TheDudeAbides I crack my neck while making sure that my mousepad is positioned right, I have to wear these sandals when i walk in the kitchen because i feel like my feet would get dirty (dirty marble tiles), alot of internal mental battles of "don't do it, or else" and just too much anxiety in between
Yeah, I'm the same way. It's especially horrible when I have OCD about doing the OCD, like I have to fix whatever it is a certain amount of times.

Usually if it's something minor, I do it and do it quickly, but if it's something that's just a plain waste of time, I just close my eyes, tell myself NO, and just try to not think about it. Don't submit!

sucks when I have a drawing request and it takes me like a month plus, just because I want it absolutely perfect. Sooner or later though I put so much work into it it becomes less of an issue that it's perfect and more so over that it's done and looks presentable. Even after that i still do touch ups lol. Still helps with essay papers and the like.
OT: I usually just go with it, if I have the driving urge then i try to distract myself with something more containable and then do the other thing Right when i get that chance.

I have OCD. I think it helps me when I'm doing a project sometimes, in terms of doing my best. Really helps when I'm drawing or making a video. I get a sense of "this isn't good enough" so I'll keep going at it until I'm satisfied and usually it ends up looking good. However, this makes me very inefficient at certain tasks and completing them takes a huge chunk of my time.

Most of the time im okay, but when it hits it gets bad i need something to be done perfectly, be spotlessly cleaned, arranged nicely. Worst that I got was just arranging the books in my room to cleaning the rest of the house...

Well I handle it like this;
Whenever I see squares and there's one spot empty
and just one
I smash
that
spot
