Future of Reboot World?

What do you guys think will be the future of Reboot World? Do you think Reboot will end up being the most popular server in the long run?

I'm currently in Windia and am thinking of moving to Reboot permanently, however the fact that I have to re-make all my link skills is daunting and is stopping me from moving to Reboot. Do you guys think I should go to Reboot and forget about my main server (Windia)? Do you guys plan to stay in Reboot permanently or will you eventually move back to your main server?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just so confused and I'm not sure if it's even worth going to Reboot because I'm just afraid if it doesn't have much of a future.

@telatsu: i would say it's just pragmatism. there's so many people in certain maps that not partying in those maps would be disadvantageous to you since you're missing out on EXP.

I like reboot, definitely brings back of beta days on maple, and pre-bb. Can't believe this basil account is 9 years old too, lol.

Anywho, I see many people quitting once they hit the level 150+ gear wall. Those like me who have hit high ranges but quit getting tired of needing to drop more money, will likely stay.

That or enough qq-ing will lead to nexon increasing mesos or something making it significantly easier to cube.

Reboot is really fun right now because no one is funded. Every time our alliance does a run we recruit people and share tips on how to farm meso, get items, areas to grind etc. It's the struggle together that makes it nice especially when everyone is going through the same pains.

I'm not sure how it will be once there becomes some separation between player abilities and levels. I really hope reboot stays successful because this is the most fun I've had in maple in a long time. However, the game balance later on will determine if the sever becomes successful or not.

@chaosh: Can you tell me a bit more about the party play? One of the reasons I quit Maplestory years ago was due to the change in party play based grinding/leveling that was so prevalent in beta and post-beta times. Has that changed significantly in reboot? Do the classes feel more like they're contributing towards a singular goal of gaining exp as a group? Or is it still more advantageous to grind alone.

Man, but the population right now is an issue. If it doesn't go down, leveling from 100+ to 140 is gonna be hell, because RnJ is always full rip

Godly damage is something to be proud of. The variation of armors and weapons people are using is visually appealing (not everyone is wearing RA, obscure items became useful (lv120-140 gear), etc). I notice way more cooperation between players. I can't wait for a few months to pass and we'll really see what its like.

@arshadkhan: that's because 'cc pls' would be a waste of time. i remember back when Big Bang hit and Zenith was released, people partied at Truckers (op exp back then) because there were just too many people to have a map to yourself.

reboot will always be better because its got players from every server on that server, its highly populated, theres no economy, nobody complains about anything they just party up and kill stuff, best of all its not P2W.. you can killsteal an elite boss and i'd say 85% chance you'll get a cube from the purple box.. and you can visit henesys pots shop and you'' see all sorts of good stuff purchasable with mesos like: cubes, 8 slot expansions, character slot expansion, etc

you may also notice the drop tables from the monsters on reboot are completely different from the regular servers (not including bosses) if you wanna kill harps and blood harps for steelys and illbis on the original servers you might find them.. but on reboot? nah those are droppin wooden tops instead

Reboot gives players a straight-forward goal right away; collect mesos to get better. People complain about how difficult it is to get stronger in standard worlds because they don't know how easy it can be. I started fresh 2 months ago on a new account with nothing and now I'm at 540k range buffed as a bishop.

I can see Reboot being the best world for casual players due to the amount of party play at lower levels, but aside from that it doesn't have much appeal for me.

Honestly reboot is amazing it brings the community togeather people actually freaking make partys at mp3 instead of saying cc please. I miss my drk and all my perm nx especially that perm hyper Tele (30k nx ) but it's so nice to see a populated sever where it's not p2w it's magical it really is.

i think the population will die down eventually. while a lot of people like to say it has a lot of aspects of the old MapleStory (i don't see it), one aspect it definitely has is the sort of 'FriendStory' that Maple used to be, that is that your experience largely determined on who you know.

that and all that'll be really accessible for a really...really long time are the more 'boring' bosses (ie., any boss that came out before RA).

Reboot is a server only for those who have the time on their hands...

Reboot should remain fairly popular compared to other servers simply because there is only one 'Reboot World' and dozens of 'regular worlds'. Even if there are technically more players outside of Reboot, it should still be fairly well populated, and not being to transfer equipment between characters should make the server feel fairly 'fresh' as well (there will always be 'newbie characters' walking around, doing party quests, etc). It also might be the players new players are recommended to play, since it is simpler to learn and there is a lot more party play, so attracting new players to the server shouldn't be a problem, either.

Personally, I'm curious how Nexon America will handle Reboot's populatiry. Or the better question, how will they handle their own greed (hello, meso sacks); if they try to add non-comestic NX to Reboot, people might abandon the server in protest, but if Nexon decides to instead go overboard with NX events on the non-Reboot servers, then people might migrate to Reboot to avoid them (and actually end up buying pets, which is still profit for Nexon).

Honestly I merch and buy my items premade. It's just too annoying cubing and getting +15% of other stats and not being able to trade it for your desired stats. Reboot's not for me, it just increases the grind 10000%

I've invested so many years and so much effort in Broa. I've got everything there- a collection of rare items, my level 211 Beginner, my link mules, EVERYTHING. and I'm NEVER going back. Reboot has taken all the evil out of maple, and I'm excited to be a part of it.

Buddy me, my new main's ign is Reboost.

@osouseless youre a drop kick... 'SW, CRA, Godly Pots'its atleast 20x easier to get those things in regular MS servers then reboot & trading items would take away the 'iron man' or 'Free to win' aspect because

I've invested too much time and effort in Windia. I don't want to just throw all that away. I made a Mercedes on Reboot just to try it out and I love partying with people while training. It feels like the old days again. I WANT to switch, I just don't like how much time I will have to invest in it by making all my characters again...

Lol it's pretty fun and I can play both reg and reboot. No need to just stick to 1.

i think it'll be more popular than other worlds only coz its the only one of it compared to regular servers

tbh im discouraged just coz there's no way of getting perm nx there. i love perm nx.

I think it wont stand for the long run due to lack of need to interact with other people, yeah it "brings people together" with some pqs but after they are about lvl 200 and your gear is decent it'll be worse than other world because before you had the need to "interact" with people in order to get more funded, without trade system it just takes away the mm from mmorpg and it could just be an rpg and ther would be no difference, plus its quite easy to level up in reboot

i left reboot because it's too different. it's hard setting up runs and stuff, and before you know it everyone will have godly pot on their sup gollux and sweet water and ra stuff and we'll be back at square one with everyone hitting max. no trading is also a really weird thing for me, maplestory is about helping other people and you can't do that without trading as much.

@iamaurian: You mean Pay 2 Win.

The way I see it, Reboot is mainly for unfunded people that never made it in the real world. It's your time to shine my dear unfunded friend...the power is yours!

I'm staying in reboot permanently. Never going back to pay to play.

I'm really not sure I could move permanently. I have way too much in Khaini =/ as for your question, I think it'll be a big hit. It totally gets rid of the pay to win aspect of the game.
