Real talk though: Can I also ask about the scar on his eye? How did he get that?

@0kevqn:
Their hair and eye colors look similar but they're slightly off.
Soma has spikier hair.
The eyes appear off, but I can't really tell.

Soma doesn't appear to have any physical similarities to his father. They have different shades of red hair, Soma's is more spiky, and the eyes are different. Which also explains why Erina notice any similarities. Soma's only has part of his father's personality, which is probably acquired because of the time spent with him.

Joichiro wanted a child to carry on his legacy but his traveling and obsession with cooking made it impossible for him. With all the money and fame he probably has, why did Soma grow up with a humble lifestyle? He was giving Soma his childhood, which goes back to the similar personalities. At the same time when Soma was old enough to go to the academy, he decided to close his diner. The sole purpose of the diner was to copy the one he grew up with.

Instead of changing his Soma's last name to Saiba, he decided to change his own to Yukihara. So Soma will also have a clue of his biological parents, should he ever want to find out. Also, it would hide his own identity until he was able to start traveling again, so his true identity won't be revealed to Soma since his father wasn't famous.
Thats my story, and I'm sticking to it.[/quote]

They look exactly the same..
