Why are guilds so bad?

Like seriously, it's like you can't put players together without them forming groups of failure?
Just as an example, here's a guild where the guild leader was shown saying they have no issue with slurs being thrown and claiming being toxic is fun

report and see if nexon deems the slur as inappropriate enough for punishment. if nothing happens then you should toughen up but if they get a warning then we get to see socially inept internet thugs cry

@xxrinnbooxx: This, The guild i am in only gets about 7 members on a day, but we're really close as a family and are nice to each other

This whole thread is why I'm fine with remaining guild-less.
They're always more trouble than they're worth.

Hmm, personally I would avoid the top-ranking guilds; but some of them are quite nice. Smaller guilds with a family community are probably the closest thing to the old guilds.

@stevejk: Actually, it's because you butt into a conversation and started throwing insults. I never said you ksed anything.

@whoamomma1: "current" I haven't played that character for years. I removed it to avoid harassment. You can still message me on basil if you'd like.

@pokiitia I didn't ks his elite boss lmaooo. Someone asked why he was salty so I just said I nuked him as a joke. He decided to use my joke to make it seem like i ksd him lol. And in my defense, people who think all guild members act the same in a guild are dumb aff so I was just being 100% with him.

Such a cry baby mate. It's also cute how you removed your current avatar.. Seems like you can't even take criticism.
Grow up..

Please, don't ever call this trash game toxic, until you play LoL. Then you'll know what "toxic" really means.

That's pretty sad. I guess it takes all types but I really don't like running into people with that mentality.

@ op That's not an uncommon occurrence in the game. Don't kill yourself over it.
But @ offender, if you're one of the people who feel tough hiding behind a computer screen, and you feel empowered to say hurtful things to other people; assuming that it's okay because it's "just an online game", you are most definitely not doing anyone any good.
(TL;DR provided)

You see, the "it's just a game", "chill lmao", "lol salty over the internet", "dude its online not irl" bullcrap is still only borderline acceptable *when said offenses are either indirect, impersonal, or game/skill-related. Comments that do not relate to the game but only harbor racism, sexism or whatever form of unacceptable manner you speak to others in should be kept to yourself. Even if it's an online game.
Why?
Because at the end of the day, almost every person you interact with online is human. Just like you. They have emotions.
True, one should know that rudeness and immaturity is to be expected when you join the enormous community of the internet, but insulting people "online" does not make it any more acceptable or any less offensive than if you said it to someone in reality. Is racism and sexism socially acceptable in the outside world? No. So why is it okay if you present such an attitude online? You can still get arrested and/or charged for such if the victim of your verbal abuse reports you.

@ op Based on what I can gather from the pictures provided (very little to nothing), I assume the situation MAY or may not have played out like this:
Playaa ksed your elite boss. You expressed your disapproval of that with a friend. He made a comment regarding what you said about him, and threw in unpleasant language. You tried inform and contact his guild leader. The said guild master clearly did not care that his guild member was acting immature. Thus, you created this thread and in doing so, placed every guild in the game in the same category. As a result of your experience. Creating even more conflict, instead of resolving the problem.
Your "just as an example" offense barrier was redundant when you posted pictures with uncensored information in order to criticize others in an open community. It's nothing short of slander.
So in this sense and flow of events, you have both done something wrong.

TL;DR:
OP, suck it up and move on; don't let yourself get hurt by someone's disgusting idea of a joke.
Mister verbal abuser, please be more careful with your wording in the future because everyone deserves respect.
And if you don't respect anyone, nobody will spare it for you. ^^

Reasons like this is why I stay inside of a dead guild. =p

It's best to just ignore them, and avoid places where they tend to gather. There really isn't a thing on who is right or who is wrong type of thing with any internet arguments.

It's like two lards getting into a fight, no matter who "wins" you're still a lard.

If you get triggered that easily I think tumblrâ„¢ might be the right "safe space" for you bud. Who needs free speech if peoples feelings get hurt in the process amirite?

@soulblade: It was used outside of the picture, but the guild leader basically ignored it. The slur used refereed the homosexual group

I didn't see any slurs used.

Looking at some of the comments, I don't think its guilds.

@fairystories: And how is having a leader manage their guild's actions not part of them leading? To lead is to handle situations that come up.

@wolfexe: A guild leader's job is to simply lead a guild, not be everyone's mommy. If someone in the game is hurting your feelings, deal with it yourself. Don't drag other people into your mess. If there's drama, then you can choose to leave or talk back. It's honestly not a big deal, but people like you who take every word said against you are what make the game a lot less fun.

However, there IS a line that can be crossed... If you feel like someone is stalking you just to harass you, then submit a ticket to Nexon about it.

1. Don't be quick to judge, you don't know what happened.
2. I didn't nuke him I was joking when someone asked why he was complaining.
3. He posted this because he lost an argument.

@jaffah: My guild is pretty active , 10-20 active online people everyday.
Why everyone taking everything so serious in online game.. ''OOO NOO SOMEONE INSLUTED ME LET'S CRY TO THEIR GUILD LEADER AND POST IT ON FORUMS''
just, be a man.
''BEING TOXIC IS FUN ''
yeah it is fun , when you can understand sarcasm.
dam butthurts everywhere in this game

@joblessjim: Oh, of course that I'm not saying all are bad over this one instance. I'm saying that I see this all the time. This guild was just the example from today.

@dulcet: Thanks, I'll start doing that.

@morrie2: Yes, It's a guild leader's job to manage problems that come up with their guild when brought to their attention

Just take screen shots of the the offensive language and send a ticket into nexon, i've gotten a few people banned for that alone.

so whats the issue here? its the guilds leader job to check everyones behaviour in an online game?

i think they should lower the member limit again. although it did irritate me, MS2's 25 member limit (now expanded, iirc) did help to prevent a sort of 'guild monopoly.'

I'm pretty sure guilds devolved from what they were originally intended for.
But you need to not approach things with such a closed mind. Using generalizations to describe the actions of the "majority" of guilds is wrong on quite a few levels. With stuff like this you really need to evaluate it on a case by case level.

Case and point: Would I be correct in saying "all paladins from broa are quick to jump to conclusions."? Obviously that's not true at all, and I'm purely basing my statement off of this one isolated incidence.
Much like you do not represent all of the views and actions of paladins from broa, one guild does not accurately reflect all guilds. And for that matter, even a few instances do not accurately reflect the majority. If you have had multiple bad run ins, you need to realize that's just anecdotal observation.

To conclude: Not all guilds are bad, you just haven't encountered any of the good ones.
