Dude, if you didn't download anything or ran javascript then you're fine.

You can easily get infected by clicking on a link on any web site that either intentional or unintentional setup a hacked link.
The infection is using your browser's javascript to execute an internet temporary file (keylogger) in this case.
On top of what all the poster had said about anti-virus, I use sandboxie to protect on web browsing, so if an virus did get in, it is limited to the
"sandbox" and I clear that out every week. There are also access rule that you can set to windows that only allow to run executable from certain folder(s) which will also prevent those type of infection from happening.

Generally you have to actually download something to be infected with a keylogger.
But there are situations where just visiting a website CAN cause your computer to be infected with other types of malware.

To avoid this kind of thing, always keep your browser updated, or set it to automatically update itself for the best protection.
You should also have BOTH an anti-virus scanner AND an anti-spyware scanner and keep them updated and use them regularly just to be safe.

I use "Microsoft Security Essentials" as my anti-virus, and "Malwarebytes Anti-Malware" as my anti-spyware.
Microsoft Security essentials is free and easy to use, and automatically updates itself and will automatically scan your computer for viruses.
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware has a free version available that's also easy to use, but you have to manually update it every time before you scan with it, and you have to remember to scan with it manually, at least once a week.

Google the scanner names for the download links.

And yes, some keylogger programs are sophisticated enough that just copying and pasting a password won't protect you because the keylogger can read the Windows "clipboard" with your password in it. Other keyloggers are complex enough that they can actually take screenshots of your screen if you use a "soft keyboard" and just click the keyboard on the screen.

The best protection is to avoid getting a keylogger in the first place by NOT clicking on suspicious links.
Anything you see posted on a site (like Basilmarket) that's anything like "Free $25 NX, just click here", or "Nude photos of my ex-girlfriend, download here" are guaranteed to be keyloggers.

if you download something on the website maybe I don't think they can keylog you otherwise.

I use Microsoft Security Essentials I don't really know much about virus protection software if your unsure if your software is effective just download microsoft security essentials from their website its free and comes from a trusted website so it can't hurt to use both!

can i get keylogged if i just enter a website?[/quote]
I'm not the foremost knowledge but I don't think so. Use your virus protection software and do a full scan of computer just to be sure. There are free softwares you can get I know microsoft offers a free one. I had a scare like you but it turned out fine. Just be more careful in the future bud

You shouldn't open links if you don't know the website.
