If I date her and break up with her, that will screw my whole friend circle... If I don't date her it'll screw my friend circle. I really want to ask this other girl for homecoming but I don't think this vice is going to break anytime soon. I have classes with all of these people and have to study with them. Being honest will be the swiftest way out of your situation. Making up excuses won't reflect well on you, but they're going to judge anyway. Might as well be as forward as possible to avoid wasting other's time.

so then you tell her as polite as you feel like: I am not interested in pursuing a relationship with you and carry on with your life. Don't turn this into something it isn't.

I'd say you might want to consider apologizing to her for leading her on if she thinks you're interested in her and telling her straight out, you're just not interested regardless if you're preoccupied you'll hurt her feelings any other kind of bs.. you'll end up hurting her if you keep this up.
