Help me understand mastery books
So it's my first time getting to fourth job. i know that to increase the max lvl and obtain some skills you have to use mastery books. i know that you have to use the book 20 before book 30. monsters drop mystery mastery books that turn into a specific book. other than the fm or getting from monsters, where can i get these books?
are there still quests that give them, and are they for all classes? i'm a luminous btw

Unfortunately it sounds like you missed out on the Tempest Shop, but there may be other events in the future that are similar-
With the Tempest event there was a coin shop that sold mastery books as one of the items you could buy with event coins.
You could purchase a mystery mastery book for a specific class and it would turn into a random mastery book needed by that class, or you could pay double and buy a Special Mastery Book that let you select the exact skill you needed the book for, and which unlocked level 30 of that skill at a 100% success rate.
(Something important to know about Mastery Books... except for that Special book, they all have % chances of failure, so you may need (will probably need) more than one.)
Gz about 4th job.
So starting from 4th job, you can only max the skill to level 10. However if you use mastery book 20, and if it is succesful(have a chance to not work), you can raise the skill to 20. Then if you use the mastery book level 30, and if it success you can raise true skill to level 30

Every class other than Aran and the Explorers,not sure about Evan.
Other than heros will whose skill book must be obtained through a quest, there are no skill or mastery books that can be obtained through quests.
go into fm, tons of people sell mastery books for cheap
You have all skills unlocked until lvl 10,to unlock them to lvl 20 you need to buy Lvl the 20 Mastery Book for that specific skill.Same with lvl 30.
For the books,just search on HS.
Its only for 1 class specifically.
Except for Maple warrior it is for many classes except nova.
And you can get from mystery mastery books or hot time.
There are a few quests that give out mastery books. Off the top of my head, Andy's Time Travel questline from Leafre awards one. You can also use a Mastery Book Synergizer (from the Cash Shop, or Everyday Happy time event) to combine two relatively worthless books into a new MMB for the chance of getting something better.
You can also keep your eyes on auctions here on Basil and you can usually nab them for cheaper than in-game, but you may be waiting for a while to get the specific book you need.
