Restoring to factory settings
Well i had a virus but i cleaned it up, but things are still messed up. I want to do a factory reset but i am afraid that i need like a product key or something. Also will it keep my windows 8?

Depends on what you've done to the computer. If the computer came with a different version of Windows originally, then doing a "factory restore" will restore the OLD version of Windows. If it originally came with Windows 8, then it will restore Windows 8.
Yes, I didn't use any disks. I was initially looking for the disk to reinstall Windows 7, but I couldn't find it, so I just reverted to factory settings. However, if you have programs like Microsoft Office, you probably want to know where the disk/product key/whatever is. (I use OpenOffice, though, so I'm good. )
Maybe you should buy an anti-virus.
I'm almost certain you don't need disks.

Do you have recovery disks? You will need those in order to get the windows software back onto your computer. I don't think you need a product key.
