Guy wants to fight me

When I say he wants to fight me for no reason, I mean NO REASON. I walked up to my teacher's desk, he called my name and said " I want to fight you". I'm like ok :L.
I'm not scared at all though.

Question is : Do I ignore him or fight him? BTW i'm in highschool.

Lol, its a waste of time without a reason. The guy looks like an idiot for wanting to fight outta nowhere, maybe cause he just doesnt like you or whatevs xD either way he looks stupid. however, if he continues to bother you without getting tired of it just knock him out and he'll learn his lesson. xD make sure he doesnt know any gangsters thoe.

They get scared once you beat them up. It's funny. They never expect you to kick.

Probably doesn't even mean it.

@WorkOfArt: While your points about the consequences are correct (been there), you shouldn't confuse high-school 'fights' as actual street fights were all his mates will jump in etc.
If he were to engage in the BRAWL, the use of a swift take-down (on grass) or blood choke would end the confrontation without [significant] injuries.

Yes, the majority of the people egging him on are stupid and don't know the repercussions.

@PcPls123: I don't question your experience...but using an elbow to the head in a school environment is a no-no. (I agree with the choke).

OT: The guy's just messing around...unless he actually shows malicious intent, there's no need to 'fight' him.

I think @WorkOfArt 's comment pretty much summed up everthing.

(This is somewhat a TLDR)
Just know what you are doing. Know the consequences of your actions. Plan out your strategy for dealing this guy, don't jump in head first. Find out some info on this guy. Did you do something to him? If so, directly or indirectly? It's your decision. @WorkofArt and the entire Basil community may have given some advice, but can't tell you what to do. Only you can choose. Again, make sure you know what you are doing.

@PcPls123:
You are completely underestimating the consequences of a fight. It's pretty clear that you haven't entered the real world yet. My post is not about standing up for yourself. My post is not about protecting yourself or taking action to protect others. My post is about street fights. Fights that happen for trivial matters. Fights that occur when fights do not need to occur. There is a huge difference between being able to stand up for yourself and participating in savagery.

This is why I know you have no idea:
You say "if violence is initiated, then hats off." This is the most unreliable advice anyone can give. Let's say you're in a bar, and you anger a drunk man. But he isn't drunk out of his mind, he's just somewhat drunk, enough to make him crazy, but not enough to make him forget the night. He initiates a fight. What do you do in this situation? Do you fight him back and beat the crap out of him, or do you restrain him and prevent him from continuing to fight you? There's quiet a difference between restraint and flat out ass-beating. What would you do? Knowing your attitude, if you can take him, you would completely beat his ass down and make sure he can't stand up again for a while.

What happens next? He remembers you, he knows who you are. People are not idiots. They go back to the bar or they talk to the bartender. They ask him for the receipt. They remember who you are and they get your name. They then sue you for their medical bills, or for their pain and suffering. Think it won't happen? It happens all the time. I've taken witness of it. It happens. It's naive to think it doesn't. Maybe you might get lucky and the guy will just let you walk away. But there's no guarantee for that. What happens when they sue you? Well, you could end up losing quite a bit of money. Or, you could get arrested for continuously bashing a person after they're unable to fight back, in which case, it would be physical assault, rather than self defense.

Or let's say you get in a fight with a classmate. You don't know this guy too well. You fight him, you beat his ass down. He gets angry, he feels that he's been embarrassed and he wants revenge. So he finds you and asks you for another fight. This time he has hidden brass knuckles. Or maybe he has a few friends to use to beat you to a pulp. Or maybe this time he overpowers you on his own, and knocks out your teeth. Or maybe he brings a knife and stabs you. It's happened before, in fact, it happens a lot.

You're naive to think that participating in these trivial fights is standing up for yourself. Resorting to violence when you don't need to, or being more violent than you need to be, only has negative consequences.

Oh, and don't think I'm saying this just because I've never been in such situations before, or I'm someone who always tucks his tail (yes I'm a guy) between my legs. I'm a composed individual, I train 6 times a week for 2 hours a day, and I've got plenty of Krav Maga experience. Not enough to be some amazing fighter, but enough to prevent a drunk man from continuing to beat on me, without physically harming him in any significant way.

@PcPls123: I miss my barbell bro. But I'm going to have to put my bodybuilding on hiatus until Uni because of Highschool sports. I've been doing everything to keep my mind off the gym for two weeks now and I'm to the point of getting sick of looking at myself in the mirror. I'm going through bro-withdrawals... halp

You really need to get a good sense of the consequences of a fight. There is no pride, no "glory," from a street fight. If you win, people will see you as a violent and deranged. You won't get any girls, and you might get a very brief piece of outward respect from some thugs, but in the end, people will just think of you as a belligerent child, too immature to talk things through, and too immature to avoid violence. If you lose, you'll be hurt.

It's a no brainer. Don't do things that aren't necessary. It's stupid and there's no reason to do so.

@PermaGypsy: Yeah, it honestly is a waste of time to be doing sht like that and there's a chance you could get in trouble. I'm just saying don't mind it for now but if over a period of time and that dude is still trying to mess with you, give him what he wants. Na'mean?
Thanks for the advice, Elder Casey
