There's been a new update to KMST and it looks like everyone is getting two new 5th job skills. Max(Orange Mushroom's Blog) has translated up to explorer pirate's common skill, which is somewhat "meh" I guess (It's an area support skill that at max level lasts 30 seconds, and adds +22% AP-Invested stats and Stance to party members and reduces the defense of enemies by 22%.

More importantly, there's a new corsair skill that has been added (but not revealed yet by Max), and given some of the other skills that have been revealed, it seems like Corsair's new skill could go either way (really awesome or also just "meh". What are you all hoping for? Personally, I'm hoping that the skill will passively improve all our previous summons in a few ways (duration, possibly # of summons, etc) and add one final active summon of some sort.

  • Edit: I'm a bit disappointed by the new skill. It has a somewhat high damage % (1200~3600% x4 hits on up to 15 mobs depending on some currently vague parameters) and 15 seconds of cooldown. What do you all think of this?

I just dont get the utility of that skill..? like when should it be used..On bosses..its has such a wonky mechanic..like it being on cooldown locks onto mobs, constantly and then pressing it at the right time for the best % damage. It looks cool and very nice , I guess I just dont understand how it will be used? Maybe if other corsairs will be able to help out on this matter.~

@lokii It's worse than that. The skill locks on to mobs only when it ISN'T on cooldown.

@medulan: OHH....I read that wrong T_T so when its NOT on cool down it locks on..see yeah im not getting how this is going to be beneficial in bossing regardless of the high %, I think it was 3600% 4 times if aimed correctly?

The Pirate Flag skill is nice. It's basically another Maple Warrior that also decreases mob defense (and apparently provides Stance?).

Deadeye seems like another training skill rather than bossing. It has a nice AoE range from the videos I've seen. It might be useful for bossing if you get the timing correct for the maximum damage. 3600% x 4 is huge burst damage.

That Pirate flag skill is nice, 22% in base stat increase not bad at all, I believe this gets factored into your dex/Str% hopefully..so itd be like 1110>1354 and that value gets affected. Hopefully that's the case and not just a base increase..

For the actual skill itself. I dont have much to say really, I mean we got a real good map skill, that deals high%, its just seems like another rotation in our bossing, so Headshot>Ugly bomb>Nautilus>dead eye
I am grateful that they gave a skill with a relatively low cooldown likewise with nuke.
I need to see more vids on this skill in bossing.

@sanjupm I am a bit disappointed by the fact that the skill doesn't help what Nexon seems to have defined as the corsair's "Core Mechanic" (Summons). Octo-cannon is ok in this department, but Broadside tends to be a pain to manage in intensive bossing situations. How do you usually go about bossing? (I posted another topic about this, but you didn't reply to it)

@medulan: The only thing I hope they'd change is giving the broadside summon a kind of AI as to so it would switch depending on where the enemy is. I find often that bosses like Magnus, dojo, and more mobility bosses that 60% of the time the summon would be wasted.. Sure small cool down, but with the plethora of other cool down burst damage we have to use, it's one more of having to deal with the hassle of putting it down and it being wasted by the fact.

So far as to bossing it's been what I said on the previous post. I guess our bossing should be rapid fire into headshot. And a rotation between nuke/nautilus whenever they come off cooldown, as it's always beneficial to have nautilus on cooldown.
And in terms of summons octo is usually not of a hassle to set up, but I tend to keep forgetting to prop up the broadside one.. After it being wasted in so much situation I tend to give up on it.

-however it's extremely viable In non moving bosses, it's just a matter of positioning the mobility bosses to aggro them onto the side your summon shoots, but at that point your cooldown is already up to set up another, and therein lies the cycle.. - lol
