Buying a Wii U for one game?

Monster Hunter 3 Unlimited.

I'm planning on getting a Wii U for that one game only.

After I get done with it, the console will probably end up like my Wii..

A Netflix/Hulu box.

I'm curious though.

I don't like the Wii's or DS's, but Monster Hunter is coming out for the both of them.

I'll probably buy the Wii though.

Any thoughts of which one I should get?

Or I'll get both.

This sucks, MU y u no come out on PS3?

Heres the thing with the monster hunter franchise. Monster Hunter is awesome, dont get me wrong, but they are making poor choices in regards to gaming platforms and audiences. Yes, there is a 3DS version coming out but from what i can tell its going to suck. My friends and I played wii version and it sucked. Why? Because of swimming combat and bowgun construction. I suppose it mightve made the game more realistic, but that sacrifices some of the fun of the original monster hunter games. In addition, (company name) for w/e reason cannot (or will not) decide on a platform. (Company name), if your gonna pick sony then stick with sony. why do you torment us hunters? Dont jump the bandwagon and go to other platforms because their cheaper. Id prefer an HD platform with consistent control schemes than to use something else. Why are they picking 3DS anyway? Its not even in their target audience. Nintendo =for family gameplay. Xbox = shooter / mature gameplay. Sony =for HD gameplay. Why? Why 3DS? It doesnt even make logistic sense.

(Company name) has failed me. Idc if im a fan of monster hunter. I will never buy a 3DS for just this one game.

Now, ranting aside, i do still play monster hunter. Monster Hunter Freedom Unite has the most content currently. If your looking for new content id recommend Monster Hunter 3rd. You can get it translated to english too with a patch. Course in order to play 3rd you need a modded psp. But if you played unite then you should already be able to do that. The latest firmwares are compatible with any 1000, 2000, and 3000I models so you should be ok there.

Note: (company name) for w/e reason is blocked on basil. I guess they dont want us talking about the maker of monster hunter by their formal name... who knows.

If that's seriously all you plan on buying then don't. Is $300+ worth 50~100hours of your time? Honestly I think it's stupid to buy a system just for one game. There's so many great games for the 3DS though but keep in mind there's no online play for it and playing online is pretty fun with MH.

Don't waste your money. But if you really want to, you could sell the console after. Or you could play with a friend if someone has it.

I plan on getting a 3DS for three games:
-Pokemon X
-Paper Mario 3
-Tales of the Abyss[/quote]

By paper mario 3, are you referring to the sticker one?

once you have done with monster hunter 3 whats next? nothing right? and i bet you'll sell your wii u to someone else.

so read this: look for another games related with your affiances. personality i dont know what is monster hunt 3 about.
but for the tittle i assume its about a hunt of monster just like maplestory. maybe season 3.

however you can always get a bit less of the original price by selling it.
