Why doesnt Nexon release

An official Maplestory music CD ?
With all the soundtracks from the game until now?

It would be a gold mine, and I would purchase it right away.
A cool designed CD case with a few slimes and pigs.. and a nice CD with the old nostalgia songs.

I can't find it on eBay or something. Does anyone know a Korean webshop that sells something like this?
I need it in my life.

@MrAbyss Can you imagine a limited-release vinyl "picture disc" with the Maplestory OST album on a vinyl record album with Maplestory artwork IN the album..? Instant sellout.

Haha, I know.
I am using that and I have the whole list downloaded.
Doesn't change the fact why I opened a thread.

I don't know where you guys live.. but WAKE UP!
PEOPLE STILL BUY CD'S.

A lot of people visit the cd/vinyl store in town here (and Arnhem is not particularly small in The Netherlands).
A lot of fans are also still purchasing new albums from bands they support, like me.
Why do people think that CD's are dead? They clearly are not.
Even Blizzard still ships a music CD with their CE, which is awesome.

@BobR I totally agree with you.
They actually did release plushies and a feeeew artbooks lately. But it's a shame that there isn't an official merch.
Maple 2 already has a merch youtube video from Nexon though, lol.

I'd buy this so hard if it existed. Forget burning it; money goes to the company when you buy it, even if it's Nexon.

...maybe best not to have one, though. I was one of those unfortunate ones that bought the famed game disc that they used to sell, that went out of date almost a few days after I bought it.

It sure does make a sexy-looking coaster though.

I think coming out with their own Maplestory OST would be a great idea. Nowadays, people don't buy CDs as much as they would download it on the internet via iTunes or other means, both legal and illegal. Regardless, record labels now still release their albums on CDs, not sure why but perhaps because that's just how it's been done for so long.

I think her point isn't so much Nexon releasing a CD but just releasing an album of it in general. Whether people buy it or download it, alot of people would probably want to listen to it in my opinion. Maplestory has some pretty good music and nostalgic in some ways.

Because nobody would buy it? It's not like you can't go to youtube, download the songs to itunes or whatever and then burn them on a cd. I think one youtube channel has a full playlist of all the songs from pre-bb and maybe even after that.

Edit: If you wan't it to look more official it shouldn't be too hard to photoshop some drawings of monsters over the background of orbis or something and then slap it on the disc.

@BobR yeah ikr. And also, If one of their music/fan items becomes a hit, more people would be interested to play the game.

@MrAbyss Excellent idea..!

I agree, for all their reputation of being a money-grubbing, profit driven company, Nexon has missed out on all kinds of megabucks opportunities for merchandising their golden goose game.

I've always thought they could have made a killing years ago when the game was actually popular, by releasing a complete line of Maplestory merchandise including t-shirts, action figures, plush animals, iPhone/iPad covers... you name it. I hadn't thought about an official release of the OST, but that too would have made them tons of money.

Horntail, Zakum, Magnus action figures, along with customizable player character figures (collect them all..! ), plush snails and pigs, and my favorite idea- a t-shirt printed with YOUR character on it from your Rankings picture. Ka-ching..! $$$$

I never understood why they didn't jump all over it.
why don't you just burn it onto a cd yourself? o.o
It's not official.
I can't make a nice high quality CD box with a guide in it with the songs.

You're missing out on the point.
It's because it is a physical item to hold and have.

Physical items are awesome.
I still buy CD's and vinyl mate, and I know that more people do that (my friends as example)
