Danika Wip Help Looked closer at the reference and noticed something. I thought the hairband simply had beveled edges, but since it's the same color as the hair (with implied cast shadow), perhaps it's not a hairband at all? Maybe someone familiar with the character could help me out. Clicky clicky. (PS I like oversized weapons.) Using line is so foreign to me, you have to know all the details before you go into any sort of
Your words and thoughts have physical power Earlier I mentioned that there is no such thing as "talent," that it is all hard work. But no, I was wrong, that is simply an opinion that is very easy to break down. However, talent is, as some people mentioned, a very small part of what creates a successful _____ (artist, doctor, et cetera). In fact, "talent" may not even have bearing on success, because it's rather rare for someone to pursue dreams based on talent (which is why prodigies are seen as rare as well). Example, I excel in martial arts, perhaps that's my "natural talent," but it's a far different path than my dream of being a comic artist. BassChan is Livestreaming I just thought I would let you guys know that I'll be doing a livestream session. It won't be Maple-related, but for anyone interested in seeing it anyway, join me here. It's gonna be long so feel free to stop by and just say "hi" whenever! I'll be doing a second Titan drawing, this time seeing if I can paint entirely in Photoshop with reduced lag. Otherwise, I'll be switching between Paint Tool SAI and Photoshop CS5. The Titan I'll be drawing, to go along with my other Magic: The Gathering "animu alters" is
I want to draw something for Basil Any ideas? I haven't drawn anything in a long while that can be posted on the site. If it's an avatar request, I will use artistic license. NPCs seem like a cool idea too. Most likely I'll Livestream the drawing too (I've never tried that before, but it seems like a lot of fun!). I've gotten a lot better since my last upload here, so yeah-- what kind of Maple-related thing should I draw?
Redrawing My First Digital Painting If you can really call the first one a digital painting, haha. HERE IS THE LINK. I'm not really active here but I thought I'd contribute to this section. I've always been a pretty below-average artist, but I never stopped having aspirations to be someone looked up to, who draws for a living. I originally drew the image in the video eight years ago, probably based on some generic anime image I found on Google. This time I redrew it, and of course changed some elements (a more detailed jacket and a color pallet change because the yellow-red-blue scheme was a novice go-to). Maybe this could inspire some people or perhaps give some insight o
A Free Drawing I need to warm up for my commission work, so I want to do some faster less intense drawings with no pressure. While I normally don't accept requests, I thought that since I need to warm up anyway I may as well do one for someone. I'll just be drawing your character. The drawing style will probably be very close to this and it will be done tonight after the x2 EXP ends (that is tonight, right?). Note: Like most anyone, I would probably take liberties with the character design.

Possible Painting Video? So in lieu of schoolwork and commissions I haven't gotten to draw anything for this site recently, and the drawings I have on here don't exactly show my ability. Now I've wanted to post up a video here of me drawing a Maple submission, but for the longest time I didn't think those videos fit in. Of course, I look at the video section now and see those types of videos are pretty much common place. Because I experiment with every drawing I do(I don't have a particular "process"), it's a lot of problem-solving when I draw and that could be an interesting thing for people to see. I've recently gotten into painting fantasy and more realistic drawings(most recent one being [url=http://dreamerror.deviantart.com/a
What are you working on I'm currently taking a break from the [suicide] beach drawing and exploring a more realistic style. I have the goal of having at least one comic published this year, as well as getting more into the freelance art scene when the career fair comes along (Hasbro comes to my school, and they currently own Wizards of the Coast). Lots of funtastic layers! >>Also recording it because I'm trying to keep a new video on YouTube at least once a week.
Chad Love Lieberman Art Thievery This should sum it all up. The website that printed and sold stolen art was created a year ago and was recently taken down. From a quick skim of the list, Jana Schirmer, Jace Wallace, Stanley Lau, Mike Inel and Gonzalo OrdoƱez Arias were all stolen from, and of course there are hundreds more. I know a few of these artists personally, and it hits harder because of that-- if any of you know people on this list, or... are even on the list... contact Alexiuss. The website was taken down after a year of selling stolen art, but the gallery can be viewed via screenshots [url=http://s691
Drawing someone random I'm bored, I can't seem to draw right now, so I want to draw someone. I'm sitting in my digital coloring class and need to work on SOMETHING, but everything I try to do comes out as crap. Maybe I can jumpstart myself by doing a request. Post here if you want to be drawn, I'll draw whoever looks the most fun for me! I want to return to a more anime style, so what I draw will probably come out like this, but more... painterly? Yeah.
The Mentioning of Commissions "Your screen (It's Magic!) was rejected. The admin has given an additional message regarding your screen: remove mention of commissions in your info text" I think that's a little ridiculous. The mentioning of my commission work in the description was not me trying to get attention with the sort of thing (I need no help there), but rather saying that in between my paid work, which is how I support myself, I would be doing free drawings of the caliber once in a while. I guess there's a rule about mentioning you can make money with drawing if you're dedicated and decent at it, but I don't understand why it's such a taboo. Is it that easy to misinterpret? Maybe it's protecting the poster from getti
BassChan is drawing something kinda So a while ago I made a topic to draw people, and my long absence has made it pretty hard to find. Well, now that school is out, I have finally gotten to start on them! First up is 's drawing, and here is a little progress-shot. I'm also recording it as I go-- my process is super-chaotic and the pose is most likely going to change a bit. I thought it'd be cool to post this up. And if anyone else wants to be drawn, I am still open for requests, though I retain full interpretation rights, haha. Maybe I'll livestream one-- only didn't for this (recording instead) because it was way too early when I started. Total working time for this one so far is about 40 minutes. [url=http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-p
BassChan Livestream Thread Livestream: Offline Today I'll be attempting to draw Korra. o.o Finished drawing! The older threads got locked, so I'm making a new one. I'll use this thread to let everyone know when I'm livestreaming.
I will draw you or something I'm bored and sitting here. Everything I've tried starting just didn't look good to me. So! Give me your avatars! I will draw one that looks really cool on paper and then paint over it in Photoshop and stuff. My interpretations and everything, so don't leave specifications-- though and ideas you want to throw out there could be really cool too. Go go go! I wanna draaaaaaw!
Samus Aran Speed Paint Even though the more "realistic" style isn't too popular around here, I thought maybe some of you may be interested in seeing this. I drew Samus Aran in a realistic Donato Giancola-inspired fashion (imitating oil painting and his process of using linework as a jumping point) and recorded the entire process. The total time spent was 4 hours and 25 minutes, but I sped up the video to be 4 minutes and 10 seconds. Well, I hope you guys enjoy and maybe learn something? :D Click here for the video!
