Cant Run MapleStory Under Virtual Machine

Updates, Patches, Tech Forum Talk about MS Updates, patches, tech

Hi everyone =)
After the last maintenance check I tried running MapleStory and a window opened up that said that MapleStory can't run under a virtual machine. The window's title was "Themida". No idea what that is ..
I'm running MapleStory using VMWare Fusion on my Mac on my Windows XP virtual machine. Is anyone experiencing the same problem? Is anyone running MapleStory successfully under a Windows 7 virtual machine? Thanks a lot.

I used Windows 7 64 on my VMWare before this patch and it ran smoothly.

VMWare does work, I confirmed it today. However, you must use Windows XP. Windows 7 no longer works.

Here's the full fix if anyone of you missed it:
Here's the fix for VMWare. Note, this fix is ONLY confirmed on Windows XP SP3. I have confirmed it does NOT work on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. The host OS should NOT matter.

Find the .vmx file in the location you installed the original VM into. Then open it with a text editor such as notepad. Then add these lines to it (Make sure that the virtual machine is off and remove the spaces between "isolation." and "tools":
svga.vramSize = 268435456
isolation. tools.getPtrLocation.disable = "TRUE"
isolation. tools.setPtrLocation.disable = "TRUE"
isolation. tools.setVersion.disable = "TRUE"
isolation. tools.getVersion.disable = "TRUE"
monitor_control.disable_directexec = "TRUE"
monitor_control.disable_chksimd = "TRUE"
monitor_control.disable_ntreloc = "TRUE"
monitor_control.disable_selfmod = "TRUE"
monitor_control.disable_reloc = "TRUE"
monitor_control.disable_btinout = "TRUE"
monitor_control.disable_btmemspace = "TRUE"
monitor_control.disable_btpriv = "TRUE"
monitor_control.disable_btseg = "TRUE"
monitor_control.restrict_backdoor = "true"

Once you are done, power on the virtual machine and go to Start, Run, Regedit and find this directory:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/Class/{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}/0000

Once you have the folder "0000" highlighted, right click "DriverDesc" and click modify. Once you have done that, erase the value name and click ok.

You should now be able to run Maplestory without any problems.[/quote]
WHAT A BEAST! IT WORKS ON WIN 7 32 BIT! SOMEONE IN BROA GIVE THIS MAN SOMETHING NICE!

@Spartan117H3: No No No, I i am a windows user, and also, for some reason my friend who has a mac had to remove windows from his mac because apparently that was what was causing the problem. Don't know about you though.

Just sayin', Spartan, you made a small typo that could matter (I really don't know...). When you said: "...erase the value name and click ok." You meant erase value DESCRIPTION, right? I couldn't even modify the name, so I guessed the guy who had the "internal error" issue changed name. I erased the description value and it's working fine. Thanks! :]

Gotta love this new opening music!

It's actually named differently depending on the OS.
