Windows 8 help
Before this patch Maplestory would load at like a 1/10 chance. Now it doesnt even attempt to load it just says: "The instruction at 0x77280ac1 referenced memory at 0x000000054. The memory could not be read.
Click on OK to terminate the program."
Did anyone find a way to get around this or fix this?

Most likely not, it has the tk in it making it seem suspicious.
@0dexkilla: I've tried and it doesn't. Redownload, reset, nothing but
Hime (Nexon Forum Mod/Responder) says:
It hasn't been official yet that MapleStory is compatible with Windows 8 and it isn't an easy resolution for the game. It is a high priority right now with our developers to identify what the compatibility issues are and addressing it. We do not have an estimated time yet with the resolution but please know we are working on it. Thank you.
Well thats good news, at least they're trying to fix it
why does everyone say down grade to windows 7 like its an easy option to do so, i may have a fix for your first problem but not the error box cause i have that one too, try downloading and installing maplestory through steam i did that and it just loads up everytime, i dont even have to go the nexon website to launch it, i can just do it then and there
^This.
I got ninja'd. Steam is the way to go.
Same. It would load rarely before but now i just get the application error. And, it's not so simple to downgrade to windows seven. Lets just sit tight and wait a bit and hopefully nexon will fix this quick!
lets hope this is solved soon
same here. I just got this new laptop yesterday and installed maplestory on it, and it ran the first time i tried with no problems. I patch the next day, and now I get the exact same error message
to me Windows vista compatibility mode solved the problem.
but seems that it dont works for all
I tried to delete it and re-install it but that didnt work
exact same message on my computer
@Gyspymann: yup
@iCrisis: Oh, it's not I haven't tried yet

Any game that is finished patching is bound to have things wrong with it. From what I heard, reinstalling gets it to work in some cases. Try it, if it doesn't work wait for Nexon to do something about it. If you are that eager to play, it's worth a try.
I had the problem to on my windows 8 laptop what I did was redownload it, to see if it would work, and it did. Worth a shot
Was this after Tempest?
A more logical answer would be to set up a separate Windows 7 partition.
how would I do that?
he asked, i answered. it's a perfectly logical answer too if he really does want to play maple.
A more logical answer would be to set up a separate Windows 7 partition.
Yes, let's all just reinstall our operating systems, restore all our files, and reinstall all of our programs so our 2D game will work again.
