Ps3 slim overheating Title, basically. Fifteen minutes of gaming (GT5, MW3, BO, Sleeping Dogs, Infamous, doesn't matter), and I get the "your PS3 is overheating" message in the top right corner. The unit is never blowing hot air, and never feels hot. The temperature of the apartment ranges from about 27 - 29 C (80.6 - 84.2 F) always. It would be closer to the 24 C (75 F), but the cheapass superintendent has shut down the central AC until summer comes around again (June 1st here is when he normally turns it back on). My heater is not on, but regardless, for some reason, the temperature of the apartment never dips below 27 without AC, unless it is very cold outside. Now, back to the PS3. I've tried using fans, which only add about 1

Backing up Ps3 games onto external Hdd Recently, my PS3 slim has been giving me problems. For a while, it wouldn't even start (I managed to fix this). Now, whenever I play any game for more than 3 minutes, it freezes, and doesn't turn off, unless the power button is held, or unless the power cord is unplugged. The fan is also excessively loud. I've tried everything short of a restore and reformatting of the PS3 HDD. Before I proceed with this, I was wondering if it was possible to back things up on the same external HDD that I use for my computer, or if this would be advisable. If this is possible, and not something stupid, I was also wondering how i could go about doing this. Thanks.

Ps3 slim overheating. Constantly I've made this thread several times before, because I've had the problem several times before. As the title says, my PS3 overheats constantly, but only playing three games; Black Ops 2, GTA4, and GT5. These are the only games I play, and the only games that seem to make my PS3 overheat. I've already taken the thing apart, and cleaned out the fan, heatsink and powersupply out of any dust. And still it overheats, and gets loud as soon as I start the game (the menu screen is very quiet). I want to know if there's anyway I can fix this, since I don't want to buy two PS3s (I'll be moving out soon), and I'd rather wait for the release of the PS4 anyway.
