Stop Locking or Deleting Contoversial Threads Petition
I hate how,as soon as a thread is about a contoversial topic,it's destined to be locked.
And if you're talking about flaming, just suspend all the flamers if they start insulting rather than focusing on giving hiers (His/her) opinion.
I want to talk about the rights of women and homosexuals in certain countries,I want to talk about atheists being prosecuted in certain countries and I want to talk about my damn country, why must you lock these threads,it's not Stalingrad in here!
EDIT:Oops, forgot to add a Poll, just post if you support this.

It's quite simple actually. We leave controversial topics open, but the moment the conversation becomes engulfed in flames we lock it and suspend all the rule breaking posts. Locks work as a pause button to make sure more people don't get suspended. After that, usually, we just leave the thread locked because at this point it's clear the thread's lost its life.
Wow! The mods haven't locked this thread yet! Lol, they lock the ones that are controversial and they leave the ones that are attacking them. I agree with the thread starter btw.
The irony is astounding.
The mods take forever to clean up posts that don't abide to the rules. No offense to them but the thread might get 8 or so pages by the time the thread is reached.
Mods have lives and things to do outside of Basil, believe it or not. Yes, it's hard to believe that 0 mods are online at certain times, but the best thing you can do is to report a thread or comments and don't reply to them. If they're THAT bad, PM a mod so they see it first.
I really think you should a space after your commas, otherwise, your threads are completely worthless and deserve to be locked.
Use your own logic and find out why you got your thread locked. Bad grammar = bad thread.
Uhm... I agree with the TS point, too many threads gets closed.
To all mods; don't close the friggin thread if you think that you answered the ts question!
Why are you the first mod to be accused?
OT: Because this is a "gaming" forum that has very low ages of people..... Anyways BasilMarket could get in trouble.
Because I'm a lot more active than the others, I don't really use the invisible option and I appear "online" for 90% of the day because I leave basil on and walk away for hours
Lmao that means I've never been banned by you so far.
Let's keep it that way..
I tend to be on a LOT because I tend to afk with basil on so for some reason, people automatically assume that I am the one suspending them. I then look at their suspension histories and none of them are mine and I just have to roll my eyes
Take your zionist ideals somewhere else and basil will be happy,
That leaves me with with a whole lot of other contoversial topics.
i think we should ban mr.basil and make whysorussian the new mr.basil

This is a forum mostly for gameing and minor stuff, we dont need any controversial topics that could go big and have Basil in a lot of trouble.
and also, controversial topics will always have people with different opinions who can't be convinced. That always yields to flame wars.
We know people disagree. Could we please stop arguing about it? It's pointless, stupid, and leads to nowhere. Heck, I think I'm starting to flame here >.>
I think we should start a petition for mods to stop banning people based on personal conflicts.

Obviously I do because it's my name that's tagged to my suspensions. I always end it with <33 *~*eeveepony*~*
what happens when you assume...
there's a very blurry line between flame and constructive argument
you make like 95% of the controversial threads
How bout you guys stop breaking the rules and we can keep the threads
Best idea in my opinion.
It's less work to close the thread, than to suspend all the people causing a commotion in the thread.
Agreed. And when you arrive to a 48 page thread, and flaming began on page 7, it's quite a bit to clean up. Also, TS, you must know that Basil's userbase isn't exactly the best place for starting a debate. There are much better places to hold these kinds of discussions rather than a site based on an MMO for 10 year old players.
It's less work to close the thread, than to suspend all the people causing a commotion in the thread.
