Are Paladins good with low-funding?
I'm not very funded, but I tend to be able to get a decent percentage of the main skill of characters. If I was to make him low-dex and have 20-30% strength, would he be fun to play and easy to train with?

I agree with everything said by above, with the exception of putting dex at 23 for emp equips (getting 170 dex is super easy with a base of 4, even with low mesos).
But realistically, 20-30% str would do a lot more for any other warrior. Pallys have no skills to add to their base attack, so str% does that much less for them compared to every other class. However, as stated multiple times in this forum and other forums about paladins, we have great def, we don't need our hands held during a boss run (even at a lower level), and we don't use nearly as much potions as other classes do. You will get out of a pally what you put into it.
first, you should make any warrior base 4 dex now ... no real reason to have more than that unless you really really want some dex to make lvl 140 equips easier to wear, then 23 should be the cap.
one really nice thing about paladins is that by the time you're around 140, even with clean empress gear no potential, you should easily be able to have 9999 defense if you're wearing a shield.
damage is meh, but my 150 pally that I don't fund at all is more than capable of taking on a zak solo in a reasonable time, killing a papulatus with enough time to grab the 10 meso i dropped in front of the door after I'm done, etc...
overall pally is a solid choice for an unfunded character, at least in my opinion.
As far as training goes, You won't have any issues until you hit 4th job. Even then you should be fine if you stay out of party training areas like LHC or Stronghold. But if you have a cool party that doesn't care about your damage being low, then you can still go to those spots. (taking 1 dmg on crockies is fun).
key thing to note is that funding has no impact on paladins being almost impossible to kill, which is what makes them awesome. If you're looking for damage, pick a different class. Otherwise enjoy the tankage.
Make it NO dex. Sorry but Paladins have very low damage unfunded. Idk if damage is what you're going for, but if you don't have more %str you'll be disappointed.
